I don’t usually write reviews, but Spell Valley honestly hooked me.
It’s a tile based strategy battle game where you go head-to-head against a single opponent. Every match feels like a chess match with abilities. Positioning matters. Timing matters. One bad move can cost you, but one smart play can completely flip the board.
The heroes are what really set it apart. There’s a great variety to choose from, and they’re all genuinely unique. Each one has its own abilities and playstyle, so you’re not just picking a different skin — you’re picking a whole different strategy. And somehow, despite the diversity, the game feels extremely well balanced. No hero feels unfair or broken, which makes wins feel earned and losses feel like learning opportunities.

I really love this game. I’ve been playing it for a while and it really is one of the best mobile games I’ve ever played. So many things to love.
1. Great community with responsive game devs. The in game clans are designed around helping new players learn the game and obtaining new heroes.
2. Great core game loop. Building a team of five unique heroes then fighting another team, the basic matches are fast paced and fun.
3. Variety of ways to play. There’s an arena for public matches, a campaign that’s really incredible, friendly matches, local matches, 24 hour per turn matches.
4. None of the things that I hate about most mobile games. It’s not a money grab, it’s not pay to win, it’s not full of obnoxious ads, no time wasting nonsense. It’s not just button pushing, number get bigger, more button pushing. No endless upgrading, collecting widgets to unlock things, etc.
If you are looking for a game with turn based combat, actual strategy with unique heroes, that’s great for long sessions or short bursts this is what you’re looking for.

Don’t play this game
The devs of this game have a combined brain cells of 1. Can’t even play this trash game as every player is a bot with level 5 cards. The devs don’t even play this trash why should anyone. The devs of this game have no clue what the hell makes a game fun. They are trying to be money hungry like they have a player base. Don’t ever play this game as it is just not worth to spend any time on a game where the devs can’t do anything but hate the player

One of the best strategy games out there!
This game is one of my favorites. Simple design mechanics and gameplay, yet the card combinations offer complex strategies and a continuous fresh replay ability. Keep up the good work and thank you!
Fabulous tactical game
If you like turn-based tactical skirmish games, then this one is for you. This is the game that has come closest to scratching that “Hero Academy” itch, ever since the original classic was discontinued. You can play vs AI and against human opponents (whether live or on a 24-hour turn timer).
Fake Duel mode
Don’t play this fake game. The DUEL mode is not against real person, they have look like personal id and searching moment, but after I played over 20 hours I found out all of users’ movements have certain patterns like AI.
Very good game. But hungry money
It takes very long time to get new cards. If you dont pay, never play this game or you will always lose.

Ummmm
I downloaded the game and I’ve tried multiple times but it refuses to open it. Just sits on a loading screen for hours. I once left my phone on and it didn’t load for an hour and a half.
Excellent strategy game
This reminds me a bit of stratego when I was a kid, unit unlock is a little slow but needed to teach you the basics and each units specialty. Give it a try, they are continuing to make improvements

I love this game a lot. Nice quick gameplay but in the dance of battle it feels long which is good. 5 stars all the way. However I am stuck on a puzzle. 2 wizards get their revenge. I tried everything, cornering doesn’t work trying to let him pass to attack the castles and jump him doesn’t work. I can’t find a way to pass that puzzle.

Great game.
This game is great, the only thing is some of the puzzles can be challenging, and with no way in the game to get past them unless you know exactly how, that can be a little frustrating. But other than that, it’s a simple and fun game

Love to see such an original idea in a mobile game! It’s sort of like chess in nature, but with so many unique characters and abilities that can create some crazy combinations and mechanics. Love to see all of the investment and updates from the developer

The new update causes chests to error out when trying to open them.
Don't Let It Die!
Developers are updating the game regularly and listen to feedback! Lots of the low ratings were from people confused about game mechanics, so they added puzzles to teach you understanding and strategies for different characters. Very F2P friendly! Your early units are good enough to carry you to the end -- the core 4 out of the 5 on my roster are these, and I'm at 3000 trophies. This game deserves way more love.
