Excellent and Necessary!
The SPIEL Essen app was excellent and very necessary to prepare for and use during the event. Mine never crashed and it updated automatically daily with the latest info and new entries. I hope the app will be available next year.

Great app. Lots of useful information about Spiel, essential to navigate and find things. A must have if you go to Spiel!
Navigation
A map with all the locations would be great. Including toilets and exits

A great app, would be improved if the hall map had the toilets marked on it!
Great for planning
But not so great for navigating the halls, lacks planning a route from you're favorites it crashes or ignores half your items, can't sort favorites by priority, favorites are doubled up if I selected a game and the publisher it should just show the both as the map gets really busy with all the text and can't filter my high vs low booths to say I'm doing these Thursday and these on Friday

Good but…
Lots of helpful information but my favorites (publishers) disappeared. I suspect when the app updated, it cleared the saved data
Haven’t used in practice yet
So far I’m really impressed on how well the app works-LOVE the map (wish GenCon had this). Love I can favorite games, vendors & events and app will guide me (1st time going so will see how well it works).
Only wish is I purchased tickets on web but cannot import tickets into app; tried every option, scanning QR code does not work, etc. All of my group said the same-can’t import tickets.

The whole app is based on spiel 2024...obviously completely useless for 2025. Don't waste your time downloading

The App is amazing, the amount of work and effort gone in to it is astounding.
This is the first time to Spiel and this is already making live easier.

Should be the standard for all convention apps
The app gives you a list of all the vendors, most of the new products, and allows you to favorite them so you can remember them later. Because let’s be honest, the day of the convention you’re so busy running around, that you’ll forget that one vendor you meant to go to more than anything else.

Super awesome great amazing helpful app!!!! Really impressed! Love that you can set reminders for events you don’t want to miss. Also love the route planner. Super informative app - and so simple to use. Well done on an excellent app!!!

Highly useful
Even more useful than last year’s version, the app has assisted in preparing for the show and is very handy during the days of wandering the halls.
A couple of quality of life improvements suggested for the next iteration :
Ability to import an exported list of notes/favourites/etc or to share a list between people for comparison or for not needing to duplicate input for a group that isn’t necessarily together at all times.
An additional level of granularity for tagging items beyond starred, ticked star, empty would allow for easier prioritisation. Tagged or not tagged doesn’t allow for ranking tiers of interest (c.f. BGG’s show listings that offer ‘must have’, ‘interested’, ‘unsure’ (quite often the case until the game is physically seen in the halls). A different coloured star or something would make highlighting the priorities ahead of the ‘wish to check out’ easy to manage.
But overall, very useful, and makes managing the limited time available to find and see new items easier.
