I’ve had this app for years

It’s my go to app I’ve never had any problems with it and I don’t have any problems making lists ❤️

I love it , but…..

I love this app and I use it every day. If I were to rate it based on how efficient the lists are and how much they help me organize I would give it a five. However every time I need to make a new list I find myself hating this app and it’s fatal flaw -which frustrates me to no end -and sends me looking to find another app to replace it. Whenever I go to make a new list it copies an old list and changes the name of the old list to match the new list . I then have two lists with the same name and the same items on them. When I go back to change the name on one of the lists it doesn’t work- it changes the name for both lists. I have to go back-and-forth 15 times in order for it to stop doing this, if it ever does. Sometimes it ends up working. Often it does not. So I don’t get to make a new list without eliminating one of my lists that already exist. So frustrating. I sure wish that they would fix this. Previous email received no response. Just tried to make another list today and I am in that place of what the heck are these people thinking with this app. So I’m here at the App Store looking for an update to see if maybe they fixed this yet. So anyway, beware the fatal flaw.

I lost everything when I updated

Don’t start using this app! Every time they update the software, I lose everything I’ve entered since my last desktop backup. The desktop syncing doesn’t work, and I couldn’t open the old version to send the email to retrieve my data. I’m tired of recreating everything every time this happens, so I’m done with this app! Even when the app was working, there were several glitches I had to work around. This app could be great if you fixed these things. I started using this on my Palm Pilot many years ago, so I really hate going to a different app!

Fantastic grocery list manager!!

I have used this since the Palm Pilot days and love it. However, I really wish they would enable cloud syncing. Then it would truly be THE BEST!

This is the best shopping list app

This is the best shopping list/recurring list app I’ve ever used. Like others I used it first on Palm Pilot, then BlackBerry, now iPhone. I’ve tried many other iOS list apps, none come close to SplashShopper as far as functionality, quickly creating, maintaining and using recurring lists. Which is why, despite the antiquated UX I return to this app whenever it works on the current iOS. I would gladly pay $10-20 for an updated version, but know a handful of loyal users who feel similarly is not enough to maintain the development effort required when so many users are looking for free apps. Possibly a stripped down free version that allowed only one free list, with in-app purchase for upgraded functionality? Who knows? The App Store is a difficult place to make a profit or even break even in such a flooded category. I’m grateful, that for now, it works on iOS 13.

SplashData Used to Represent Quality

I don’t know what happened to SplashData— maybe they just decided to put all their weight behind their SplashID app? I dunno. I’ve had all their apps since the early 2000’s, on my Palm. But this app just disappoints over and over again. They don’t update it. It stops working from time to time. Or worse. I just opened up my app and all my lists were unpopulated. That’s unacceptable. Yeah yeah - I could sync it with my desktops to repopulate it. But that’s not the point. It shouldn’t drop all my info. Ever. And contacting support is a joke. There’s no real usable info in their searchable support site - you can’t even sort it by app so there’s tons of irrelevant info to weed through. And if you try to eMail them at the address provided, it comes back undeliverable. The thing is - this is still, hands down, the best customizable shopping & other list app out there. Sigh.

Hands-down the Best (Again)

I’m one of many Splash Shopper users who first installed it on a Palm Pilot. SplashData was very resistant to updating it for compatibility with iOS 11.0 (and beyond), and still doesn’t want to expend much effort on fully updating it (sync via iCloud, etc).
BUT... now that it’s been upgraded for 64-bit iOS, Splash Shopper is “clean,” without unnecessary hooks to coupon services, cute graphics, odd backgrounds, etc. It’s easy to add items and assign store aisles, to sort by item name or aisle (for shopping ease), to shift from “add to shopping list” mode to “shopping now” mode.
While I use it exclusively for shopping lists, users can have an infinite number of lists for everything from “to-dos,” to favorite wines, to... anything you might want to keep in list form.
Only 4 stars because it won’t use contemporary syncing methods, and because Splash Data really isn’t all that interested in supporting it. But an app I use every day, and which is irreplaceable.

No fix coming

Been waiting 9 months for a fix to their start-up crash on their IOS 11 upgrade. Here’s their answer.... Thanks for contacting us.
No fix of the kind is coming, sorry.
We plan to fix some iPhone X issues, QuickLists and badges but not what you say as this is not a known issue and was not reported by anybody else.

Hooray-iOS 11 Version is available

I’ve used this app for 15+ years, starting with Palm. And now it works again on iPhone with the 64bit release. Clearly, this took too long, but I’m glad it’s here.

I have never found another check-list app that is as easy and flexible to use as Splash Shopper. It is so easy to set-up multiple lists and batch changes (such as packing lists for different types of trips-beach, snow, etc.). It is also easy to add and delete items as well as manually select needed items in a list.

The sync works, but is a direct sync to a PC. That’s a bit dated these days and I hope they add cloud sync in the future.

Another nice feature would be the ability to add a picture of an item it’s entry on a list.

Thanks.

All Time Great

I have used splash shopper since the palm pilot days.

As a professional speaker and trainer who also teaches time management, I have found splash shopper to be an invaluable part of one’s organizer system. It is perfect for repetitive checklists where you want to turn things on and off. For example some of the things I’ve used it for include:
- Grocery lists
- Costco list
- Travel packing
- Preparing two weeks vitamins in the little boxes
- The 14 backup hard drives that I switch back-and-forth to a banks safe deposit box
- To Do before leaving my second apartment in NYC
- Video shoot
- Pre Webinar Broadcast checklist

I have tried others but they over complicate it. Splash is simple.

The few times I had tech questions the support was quick and stellar. They even followed up with me after all was done.

The fact that it syncs with a desktop version is also great.

It has remained on my first page of my iPhone even after not working with iOS 11. Now that it does again I am thrilled!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for updating the app for the latest iOS. I have missed this app so much. I haven’t yet poked around too much to see if all is well, but just being able to have all my lists back made me jump for joy today!!!
Thanks again!!!

Best app for groceries!

Though it took some effort, my local grocery store is programmed into the app. I pick from my quick list, and order items by aisles, and with one pass can get everything quick! I've been using the app since I had a Palm pilot, somewhere over 15 years!

Once again a half-baked update! Or, too little too late!

Updated review for updated update! I’ve been a SplashData customer for many years, why were registered users not notified when the update was in the works? I’d have missed it totally if I hadn’t left this app on my iPhone 5c. Nevertheless, I’m glad that the developers finally could be bothered to update this much-loved app. I had synced my data to my MacBook before updating my 6s to iOS 11, and then deleted the app from my phone. The old version had already ruined my iPad 4 data (months of work lost) and I’d deleted it. So big surprise yesterday when updating apps on my 5c and voila, the update appeared. Unfortunately, after installing this update on my 6s, ALL of the synced data residing on my MacBook for my 6s was overwritten by generic files when I tried to sync from the MacBook to my 6s, even though I’d gone into the sync settings on my MacBook and set it to “desktop overwrites handheld “!!! Now another set of data gone! Some I can retrieve from my 5c, but what a waste of time and effort! As for my iPad 4, the App Store will only let me download the old version, and frankly, I’m reluctant to take the risk with it again. According to the developers blurb, this update should work with iOS 10.3.3, so what’s the deal???
Review from 2017:
I've used this since my Palm Pilot days - more than 10 years??? It's beyond me why the Splash folks chose to discontinue upgrades several years ago. There simply is no other iOS app as thorough and versatile as this app for not only shopping, but also for inventorying and just about any other type of list making you can imagine. I've tried many other apps in my search for a replacement app, but they all fall far, frustratingly short. As a result I've chosen not to update to iOS 11!!!!! It's that important to maintain the functionality and data I have with Splash Shoppper. I do wish the developers would realize what a potential gold mine they have in this app and do the work to update it and give it the publicity it deserves. No doubt they would be rewarded many fold financially!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

It was dark days when this app went away! It’s the best list app ever and I’ve used it for years, since the Palm Pilot days! Thank you for updating it for iOS 11+!! Please don’t ever go away again!!

My most important app

This has been my most used and important app on my phone. Having bought an iPhone X I needed the latest update. The update to iOS 11.x has restored my favorite app. Best most versatile list app of all. I have multiple lists for lots of activities as well as shopping lists. Recommend highly.

It works again!!!

Thank you, thank you. So happy it’s back. At first glance everything looks just like before. I was lost without my SplashShopper.

It’s back!

Today they finally updated SplashShopr to work with iOS 11. I used another app the last 6 months and it was fine but nowhere near as useful as SplashShopr. Looking forward to a SplashMoney update now!

Update on Update PLEASE!!!

Please do not leave us all hanging if you are not going to update the app so it works on iOS 11. Let us know so we can find something else. I use several of your apps and am very disappointed that you have not upgraded this one! Hopefully the same will not be true for SplashID!

Please deliver on your iOS 11 update plans asap!

Like so many others have stated, I have been using this app since the Palm Pilot and Treo days. I use it weekly.

Your support site says you're working on upgrading the app to support iOS 11. If that becomes impossible, please provide a tool to migrate old lists from an iPhone with iOS 11. I really hope it doesn't come to that.

This causes one to question if we should proactively migrate off other Splash apps. I don't think you or we want to do that if possible. Not a threat. A concern.

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE UPDATE

This is by far the best lists app I have ever used (and I’ve tried a BUNCH of them) and I used it on a daily basis. It since the iOS 11 update I can no longer use it and I’m EXTREMELY disappointed. PLEASE help your loyal customers and update the app.
