Lots of potential!!

If this app works for you and how you work it could be game changing. Nothing else like it out there that I am aware of. Lesson plan, unit plan, curriculum plan, handouts and slides all in one place. Designed to speed up your process and have frequently used information at your fingertips.

HUGE Time Saver

I found out about Spliced after reading the blog entry, "5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Using a Word Processor for Writing Lesson Plans." The thing that caught my attention was the quote: "unlike any product I have ever found, after writing your lesson plans, every other document – curriculum map, unit plan, and presentation slides – is generated automatically" and I thought, "I could use that." So I downloaded the app and here's what I can say:

Cons:
Steeper learning curve than I expected. It wasn't immediately obvious how to use it effectively.
The generated presentation slides are not as customizable as I'd like.
Pros
Once I figured out how to use the app, I found it was incredibly simple. It just takes getting used to.
It is obvious that this will save HOURS of time every week. The data entry is so fast (I'm using an iPad Pro with a keyboard, which helps with speed) and components like "Record Recents" or the Quick Build feature make this only better.
The PDF documents look fantastic. If you go into the Settings, you can customize the heading, the fonts, and the organization of the documents.
The app really does sync all of your documents. This is especially useful because my school always wants to look at our unit plans but I feel like I never have time to prepare them. Spliced basically makes them for me.

If I hadn't read good things about this app before I downloaded it, I probably wouldn't have put in the time to figure it out, but I am so glad I did! The pros definitely outweigh the cons.
