About
Most training plans for hybrid fitness races were written for someone else.
Split8 starts with your numbers instead: your 5K, your strength and station benchmarks, your VO2max and resting heart rate from Apple Health if you share them, the days you can actually train and the equipment you actually have. From those it finds where you have the most race time to gain, and builds a training block around it.
FIND WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK
A hybrid race is eight 1 km runs and eight functional stations: sled push and pull, rowing, ski erg, burpee broad jumps, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. Split8 scores you in three areas that decide the result: your running engine, your station endurance and your strength. It weighs each one by how much of the race it decides, and shows you where to focus first.
A PLAN BUILT AROUND THE ANSWER
A periodized block, weighted toward your focus area, with sessions placed on the days you said you can train. Run paces come from your own 5K, and station weights match your race division, in kilograms or pounds.
EVERY MOVEMENT EXPLAINED
Tap any exercise in a session to see how to do it: photos of each position, plain cues, and the mistakes people actually make. Every session also tells you why it is in your plan this week.
TRAINS WITH THE GYM YOU HAVE
Tell Split8 what equipment you can reach and it swaps in the right alternatives. No sled? You still get the work a sled would give you.
IT LISTENS TO HOW TRAINING WENT
Log each session, with effort, feel and any pain if you want to add them. Flag pain and Split8 offers to ease off straight away. At the end of every block it reads everything you logged and adjusts what comes next: harder where you have room, lighter where you do not.
BUILT FOR RACE DAY
Set a race date and your training builds toward it, with a taper and day-by-day race-week guidance. No race booked? Training runs in cycles so you keep progressing.
Split8 is an independent training app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any race organizer.
