Two unrelated workshop calculators share one quiet, paper-styled app. Neither is a novelty: both benches take real measurements and return figures you would otherwise work out on the back of an envelope. The Cistern Bench sizes a rainwater catchment system. Enter your roof plan area, pick the roof surface so its runoff coefficient and first-flush loss apply, choose a rainfall pattern, then set tank size and daily draw. It steps through the year day by day and reports the tank level month by month, the annual harvest, what overflows, the dry spell your store covers, and the tank size that reaches your reliability target. The Reed Bench works out double-reed cane geometry. Choose an instrument to load its dimensions, then adjust cane tube diameter, gouge bed radius and centre thickness, shaper widths, staple and blade length. It draws the gouged arc and the scrape profile, returning the cane length to cut, wall thickness across the gouge, blade width at the collar, and a resistance index for the blade's proportions.
