About

Spot is a small window into someone else's day. You ask a person you trust for a photo of right now. If they take it, it arrives. If they don't, nothing is saved and nothing is said. There are no streaks to keep and no second nudge — asking twice is exactly the nagging Spot is built to avoid. HOW IT WORKS Ask. Tap the eye on someone's row. Answer. One photo, taken in the moment. Open. It leaves our servers the moment you do. THERE IS NO FEED No followers. No likes. No counts. Nobody discovers you, because there is nothing to discover. Spot is built for the handful of people you would actually text — most people keep fewer than ten. INVITE-ONLY, BOTH WAYS There is no search and no directory. People reach you only through a link you chose to share, and you decide whether to accept. Nobody is added to your circle without your say-so, and either of you can leave it at any time. ALWAYS THE MOMENT No uploads from your library. A photo is always taken now — which is the only thing that makes the answer worth anything. END-TO-END ENCRYPTED Photos, captions and notes are encrypted on your device before they are sent. The key that opens them never leaves your phone, so we hold bytes we cannot read. When you open a photo it is deleted from our servers. This has a consequence we would rather state than hide: if you lose your phone, the photos sent to it cannot be recovered — not by you, and not by us. There is no copy of the key anywhere else. That is the cost of the promise above, and we think it is the right trade. YOU ARE IN CONTROL Block someone and they are gone: removed from your circle, everything between you deleted, and unable to reach you again even with your invite link. Report anything that is not right. Delete your account from inside the app — profile, circle and every photo, immediately and for good. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. Nothing sold to anybody.

What's New in Spot

1.1.0

September 28, 2026

Requests now expire after ten minutes, with the time left on both screens. People is sorted into new photos, who is waiting on you, and who you are waiting on. Profile photos. Invite links that connect in one tap. Faster sign-in, faster photos, and a front camera that no longer flips them.
