Frustrating and Developers are Uninvolved
The app makes you verify yourself before you start using it. You have to take a picture of yourself and put a photo of yourself as your main profile picture. I’ve did that. 2 days later they logged me out of my account, I didn’t have a chance to add any email or phone number. I emailed them about this issue about 4 times within the span of 5 days. I haven’t gotten any type of response at all. So they logged me out of my account without my permission. Apparently my password is wrong even though I’m 100% positive it’s not. My pictures are still up in the app and I have no way of removing them. I’m not okay with my pictures on there as I am not able to manage them. And their lack of communication not responding to my emails about this issue is beyond me. Overall I find it really shady.

WARNING
There’s a bunch of adults on here to prey on kids, but i’d like to call out this specific one because he keeps making multiple accounts to prey on my 15 year old sister and also preyed on me when I was 16 (20 now). He goes by tantan (with random numbers at the end of his user). He has a rose tattoo on one of his arms and a cross near his eye. He apparently lives in Maryland (Even tho 16 is “age of consent” there I live in a state where it’s 18) and he’s 24 and has been keeping an eye on teens for who knows how long, he (still has I think) had/has pics of me saved in his camera roll from when I was a minor and I kept demanding him to delete them, he refused to. He has been begging my sister to send him nasty pics and has sent her videos of him doing the devils tango with what looks like 15-17 year old girls. Keep ya eyes out for that dude if y’all use this cus he been preying on young girls for a while now

Accessibility using Voiceover
Hello. I just want to say that I really like this app, but there are some issues with accessibility for blind users. This app is a bit complicated to use with voiceover, which is the screen reader for iOS. It allows blind or low vission users to use an iPhone without having to see the screen. As a blind user myself, I have found the app quite complicated to use with voiceover. First, there are many buttons that are not labeled in the UI so I do not know what they do. Also, voiceover should be improved in the chat screen, because when reading messages in a conversation, voiceover does not read who the message was sent by or the time the message was sent. Hopefully the devs will consider these suggestions for better voiceover accessibility for blind and vission impared users. I still give it 5 stars because this app is very good. Just a little feedback
Hi I liked the app ,but it really made me mad my friend sent me a link to it which I joined looking for new friends ,but their were some difficulties for me. Once when ever I close the app it always signed me out ,and I would have to log in again every time it was very annoying. The other reason was today when I tried logging in it said my account was deleted I had just got the app and haven’t made friends yet besides the one friend that sent me the link so I couldn’t have been bullying or anything inappropriate, my email was valid and I used my own pictures so idk what that issue was but It ruined my whole experience for this app. I also tried making another account but it wouldn’t let me 😐

This App Has A lot of Catfish!! Use Another App!!!
Here’s the thing: I am a 19 year guy just wanting to hook up with a girl my age, but there are a lot of 18 and 19 year olds that are asking money for s$x which are most likely older men behind the screen, and many of them claim their from my area but their actually not, their in another country because if they were actually from my “area” they wouldn’t have to take a couple of minutes to look at Google Maps to guess a place to make it believable that they live there.🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Don’t get me wrong there are some genuine people on here, but for me, I have mostly been getting a lot of catfishes and it’s really annoying to not meet a real human that just wants to talk and vibe out, and not begging for money or gift cards just to have a conversation and only to walk away with my money…
Also beware there are older men and women older than 30 on this app even tho this app is really supposed to be for teens and young adults, but I even saw a 37 year man on this app.

App is great, but…
App is pretty great, and only has a few things I’d want to be different.
First, when I’m searching for interests, I wish it would search based on the settings in the swipe section. I had mine set to 16-17 year old females, but the interests section kept showing me 15 year olds and guys. Developers, is there a way you can synchronize the settings for both? Or at least make it say “male” or “female” on the bio?
Another minor annoyance, is that occasionally the app will show me profiles I had already swiped in the past. I had swiped them already, I don’t need to see them again, thank you very much.
Also, there are a lot of catfish on the app. I feel that if you had monitors looking out for near duplicate profiles, profiles with the same pics, profiles with little to no pictures, and profiles with no bio, you could help remove some of them and make the app a safer experience. I’m tired of seeing people that want to “chat on WhatsApp/kik” or “trade” or be a sugar daddy/momma. If you could do something about it that would be great.
Other than that, the app has worked great!

Two years ago I matched with this guy on here. We were 15 and 16
We talked alot, exchanged snaps, flirted, etc. you know the deal. But we never really got serious. It was just like a “oh he’s cute and I like him. But he’s far and I’m distracted by the other guys in my area” type thing. After dating a few other people within the couple of years him and I started catching up again. We always talked throughout this time but it was getting to feel more personal and a great connection was starting. This person has been the highlight of my life since we have started talking again.

Great, yet copied and and absolutely terribly executed concept
Yubo has been doing the exact same thing for a while, except not only do they have more on their app like lives and favoriting people and stuff like that, but they also have almost no bugs. Spotafriend is poorly designed and whoever coded the app needs to be fired and have someone else hired. I’m on a new phone (iPhone 12) which could contribute to that, but they’ve had this same format screen for years with iPhones so there shouldn’t be any issues with it. I can’t change it to only people in my area because when I do I’m getting people from all around the country not even close to me, the shaded text to show what you need to write in boxes doesn’t exist, it keeps resetting my swipe preferences because I don’t want to be talking to 13 year olds at 17. Why is the app so poorly made? Anyways, if yubo isn’t being annoying to you and locking your account because they think your face isn’t there even though it clearly is, go for yubo not spotafriend.

Critical Review of a Good App
Er, first off, I just want to point out that when I was downloading this app I got a notification that it contained restricted material and wanted to confirm I was 17 and up. I’m 15 and in the app description it literally says that app is for ages 13 through 19. But I just wanted to say it’s a great app that ensures only teenagers can use it because of your profile picture. That’s how far I used the app before I deleted it tho. I’m not photogenic and I didn’t like how my picture would be the first impression someone had of me and so I deleted it even before I finished registering my account. Plus, all the negative reviews out there, the developers already replied to them and fixed most of it. They’re giving the app a bad rep for nothing. Hence the 5 stars I’m giving right now. Accounts Randomly Being Blocked??
I usually like this app, and have made some good friends but recently i think the app has been blocking people?? at first others were saying their contacts were blocked and they couldn’t contact me, and now i’m getting notifications from people i’m friends with in the app but when i go to chat i cant find them. also- scrolling on the chat page (the furthest right where you can find all conversations) has been very laggy and slow for me. i miss the people i’ve met :/

Not bad, but not the best.
The app has a lot of bugs! Sometimes I’ll click on a profile and it’ll take me to the account of the previous person I swiped. In the mail section, the conversations constantly swap and go from the top of the screen to the very bottom. Also, even though I have it filtered to people nearby, it seems to not do anything, and people who are nearby only appear in every 20 or so swipes. Another thing: I randomly got logged out of my account earlier today and my password won’t work in order to log back in. I already sent the “reset password” option to my email twice and the email still hasn’t even come in. Please do something about this. If it won’t let me log back in, I at least don’t want my account to stay activated with my picture for everyone to see.

Can’t put my age in
I’ve had this app not even an hour and I already want to delete it. I’m trying to put my birthday in there so that I can filter it to people my age and it won’t let me. Everytime I land it on my birthday, it just goes back to to one that’s not mine. I don’t want to have people at the age of 13 popping up because that’s too young, but I can’t change they if it won’t let me put in my birthday. I can’t even get it to the right birth year. Not only that, but when trying to update my birthday, half the numbers are white so you can’t even see all the dates or months. Please fix this, because I’m just so close to deleting already.

BLACKMAILED BY PEOPLE MET ON THIS APP

I met someone on Spotafriend. We started talking and he asked for explicit photos. I sent them to him (without showing my face). He, in turn, asked for a photo with my face. I said no and he continued to pressure me. I told him he can’t save the photos or screenshot, because I was paranoid about people sharing photos. He sent me one in return and he also said dont screenshot, so I didn’t. After I refused he screenshooted the photos and threatened to blackmail me if I did not give him what he wanted. I reported and blocked him. However, the next morning I received a test from a friend saying that she got the photos of me. I also was told by a stranger on Instagram that he sent the photos to her and also had him send screenshots of him going to send them to family on social media platforms.
I reported to the police but they couldn’t do much and the thing faded away.
Now, I just heard a male friend of mine have a similar experience. He met a girl on the app and he sent explicit photos to her—and now she’s blackmailing him for $300 that he can’t afford. This app should be shut down. Not only has it made me upset and I’ve lost sleep over my situation, but now my friend is going through this too.

I love the app- but
I can’t seem to fix my subscription. Plus it hasn’t even been a month I mean it cancels in 2 weeks. Well supposed to. The app just acts like I have it, because I can’t click on the subscribe button that I’ve used before (the one month subscription) and I just don’t know how to fix this. I’ve looked at Apple websites and your website and it says nothing about this- other than a refund. Which I’m not willing to go through that. But it was a waste of 7 dollars if it only lasted for half the price. So- yeah. Maybe you could fix this?

Be careful on the app
Are people from your guys company allowed to text you in Instagram and then ask you personal questions to see if you’re actually who you say you are and then proceed to have you video chat if you’re really who you say you Omar win the pictures then ask you to take nude photos to send to them Incase you send a nude and it gets leaked so they can take it down? Because I had two of these people say they work for the company and wanted me to do that so I just deactivated my account and deleted it so that they would leave me alone because I don’t think people who work for the company really do that..

Probably THE worst app you can get right now.
Started off about a year back, was still adjusting and seeing some small bugs and kind of pushing them out of the way hoping they would be in for a fix. August if 2020 and not a thing has improved nor changed.
• 80% of the time, the ads don’t even load. You’re constantly stuck repeatedly pressing the ‘Watch Video’ button over and over again.
• Sometimes on Mobile Data, full bars and everything else is completely fine; (while using data) the app wont even load. It’s always stuck in ‘maintenance’.
• The search filters don’t even work. You can set your filter to Guys or Girls only, and then mysteriously it just resets itself to Guys AND Girls. There is NO WAY past this, and it is unbelievably annoying.
• The Developers spend more time getting representatives to advertise on their app rather update absolutely anything to make the app usable and convenient for the user.
If you’re going to make an app, be dedicated. Make money along the way, of course; but if you’re not helping or giving your users any new ANYTHING, you’re not going to get very far in my opinion.

Used to be a well made app
I used to use this a year or something ago and when I did I never encountered the amount of fake people, bots, people older then 19... by a lot, and the amount of people saying they’re there to give money is so stupid, this used to be a app that I got to talk with my age group, and in the way of making new friends. So whatever you guys did to this app while I left you kinda ruined it. Or maybe you didn’t and they just found ways to get in your app, either way this is something you should fix. Hell this is my first app review ever because I used to like this app but now it’s not good, your system works fine but the amount of fake people is too much.

Amazing app, but needs to be updated
I love this app, but there’s just a little problem. it’s super buggy. For example, when go to the messages section, somehow it sorts my messages in a random order, and when I swipe out and then back in, either the same thing happens or it goes back to normal. Another bug the happens to me is, after I text someone a message and go back to swiping profiles, it shows that little dot ontop of the messages symbol indicating I got a message, but when I check, no one texted me. I really love this app, but it really needs to be updated.

Bugs need to be fixed PLEASE
I've been using spotafriend for over a year, but, the problems i have are: 1. When i go to get my 30 min view history, i cant seem to do so because a particular ad pops up on screen and freezes the entire app. Im not sure when this started happening but i do know it's the same ad i saw when i first started using the app. 2. There are some occasional crashes which are a little frustrating 3. The app runs slow sometimes even though my internet is perfectly fine. This is a very amazing app and I'd love to see these changes take affect as they are vital to the app's overall performance.
