What's New in Spottle

1.5.1

May 23, 2026

Lots of polish in this update — clouds look more like real clouds, the reveal feels gentler, and the daily-finds counter now sticks the way it should. NEW CLOUD-SHAPE ARTWORK Every cloud illustration in the game has been redrawn. Each one is built from real cumulus puffs — the kind you'd actually see in the sky — so the shape emerges out of the cloud the way pareidolia really works. 18 new shapes added too, including a magical unicorn, a graceful swan, a rocket ship, a treasure chest, six more letters of the alphabet, and the numbers 1, 2 and 3. SLOWER, GENTLER REVEAL The cloud-shape now fades in slowly after the camera finishes scanning — your child has time to register the photo first, then the shape materialises out of the sky like a cloud forming. SMART HALO AGAINST REAL CLOUDS When your child's photo has real clouds in it, the painted cloud-shape gets a soft luminous halo so it stands out and stays findable. When the sky is clear blue, the halo is skipped — the shape pops against the blue on its own. DAILY FINDS COUNTER FIX The "X cloud finds left today" counter no longer resets every time the app reopens. Each child still gets a fresh batch every local morning. FRIENDLIER HOME SCREEN The blue cloud now reads "Look up at the sky! Let's find things!" Nancy greets you with "Are you ready to spottle? I wonder what we can find in the sky today." PRIVACY (UNCHANGED FROM 1.5) As of v1.5 your child's photos stay on the device. No photo is sent to any AI service. Only short kid-safe text strings go to ElevenLabs for Nancy's voice. The cloud-shape illustrations were pre-generated and bundled with the app. OTHER FIXES • Camera viewfinder no longer shows a thin blue strip on one edge. • Wrong taps no longer flash a "wrong!" card — Nancy just says a soft retry line and the cards stay tappable. • Halo around the photo card on first appearance is now correctly sized. Thanks for playing — and if you're enjoying Spottle, please consider rating us!

Wonderful

Such an incredibly thoughtful and great app.

Guilt-free screen time!

Some days you need a little help/distraction and while screentime always makes me feel a little guilty, Spottle solves that problem! It’s creative, educational and easy to use. It’s also safe with all the protections needed for your kiddos to be safely on your phone. Love the concept, love Spottle!

I Wonder What We’ll See!

My 4 year old enjoys both modes. Great way to get outside. Gameplay is intuitive even if your kid doesn’t read yet. He got excited while playing and said “I wonder what we’ll see!”

Best app ever!

It is so fun!

Fun and easy to use

Super fun! My nephew loves playing it and it’s been a fun game for us to do together. Easy to use and keeps him entertained!
