Horrible

Won’t let me create an account whatsoever. I’ve tried everything.

Worst Customer Service Ever

While I didn’t have an issue with the app, my brother has been trying to submit the forms he needs in order to work on the Spur app. He’s a minor, so he had some extra paperwork to fill out—and even getting THAT was like pulling teeth. His background check has said “in progress” for probably about two months. He’s constantly been trying to contact Spur to help him for probably about four months and nobody has helped. Someone responded to him once weeks ago and has ignored his texts since then. He’s tried calling, texting, and emailing anyone he can. Nobody responds or they respond once and never again. Every time he called the Spur helpline, he got nothing but an answering machine and no matter how many times he left voicemails, he never got a call back. Spur is insanely unprofessional and clearly does not care about your time. Absolutely absurd. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Horrible App!

Horrible App! They post jobs that are actually not available, and I’m tired of wasting my gas everyday! I have to call the schools before going there due to this! I quit!!!

no notifications

i try to spend time on the app to schedule a shift for myself but i’m unable to because of my schedule i don’t understand why they don’t allow this app to send you notifications to your phone…

Awful

I’m not sure how anybody is expected to work if they are not being notified of the job openings. Our school district just switched to the Spur app from Frontline, and I fail to see how this benefits the substitute teachers at all. It is now increasingly difficult to pick up a job or to personalize where you work and what days you are available. I rely on this job to keep me afloat while I’m in school full time, and the switch to this poorly functioning app will now make that unnecessarily difficult.

Hot mess

They need to go back to front link this is a hot mess

Notifications don’t work

Yall need to fix the notifications issue! You’re unable to see jobs being posted unless you are in the app. I would rather them pop up outside of the app instead of having to sit on there all day !

To many issues and restrictions

My county school system is switching over to Spur staffing agency for all substitute needs. One of the problems and probably my biggest complain is that it does not send notifications to your phone when a new position comes available. Unless you are actively in the Spur App refreshing to see if there are job postings, you will never know. I’ve already missed many. The old app we used would notify your phone when there was a new post. You could also personalize it and select what schools and grade levels you wanted to sub for. You could mark yourself unavailable for certain days and personalize your calendar and availability. Right now Spur App is a hot mess and they need to work on these things so we aren’t all missing job postings. Why would you have us turn on notification settings if it’s not going to work? School starts next week and I can already tell I won’t be picking up as many shifts simply because there are no notifications and I’m not sitting all day every day refreshing my screen to see if I come across a shift. Very frustrating.

No notifications

You don’t get push notifications at all and it’s very frustrating to get on and see one’s available just to find that it’s been taken

Please update yourself

Why won’t you allow notification alerts of job openings to notify the phone? Nobody has time to set around and constantly refresh their phone looking for openings. Please fix this to where you are actually alerted when an opening is put in for subbing. A banner pop up, a chime, something would be nice!

No notifications?

I have all settings on my phone correct to receive notifications but I do not get alerts for job postings and I am constantly missing shifts because I don’t see them in time

Spur

I use the Spur app to procure substitute teaching jobs . When a job is posted on the app we do not receive notifications. So I can look at my phone every few minutes to see if a job is available and someone else has already procured the job . This goes on all day . Since the end of June about 30 jobs have been posted and I have been fortunate to have worked 3 days . This is why give the Spur app ONE star.

This app does not send out notifications I check the app every 30-40 min except from 10 pm- 4am and every time they post a job offer it’s already taken I live on the app just waiting because if I leave the app they post a job you should not have to check the app 500 times a day just to get a job it gets old really fast It says I have spent 4 hours and 5 minutes just sitting there refreshing the notification section and I have missed all 13 jobs by 30 min or less either they are living in the app more then me or they get notifications as soon as the job is posted also Spur needs to delete the shifts that are no longer available in the notification section

Unless you are sitting staring at the app all day, you don’t get notifications for new jobs. Have missed many opportunities because of this .

Where do I begin?!

The app is alright to work with if you are familiar with telephone and computer applications already. If you use computers and phones regularly you shouldn’t have a problem... but actually working for this company is NOT the way to go. Poor correspondence in regards to real issues - such as money and having things taken care of in a timely manner. The main office staff have a tendency to drag their feet on issues that are important to you - the employee. Their resolution for everything is... “ that money will just have to be put into next pay check.” When in the mean time.. I’m only getting paid somewhere close to 10$ an hour - and whatever little bit of money I worked for I want it when it’s due - I shouldn’t have to forgo on funds that should be in my account on time because of your lack of professionalism and correspondence with your employees. I sent about 5 emails to my spur rep a week in advance to take care of several issues regarding log in times and conflicts with my site manager - I Still have yet to hear back from anyone In regards to that. If I wasn’t already with the school of my choice I wouldn’t suggest going thru Spur at all. They are absolutely ridiculous and show complete disregard for the employee.

Frustrated...

You all keep updating the app, but there is still a problem. I hardly able to clock in on time since this remodeling. So when I finally get in, I’m not able to adjust the time correctly. It gives me the option to adjust it, however it doesn’t make the change and I cannot complete it. I don’t understand this whole thing. Make an Apple Watch punch. That might make it easier.

Update is bugged

The old version had its flaws, but now with this update I can not get jobs to pull up at all. I click the notification, even 2 seconds after it is posted, nothing pops up.

Hate the NEW app

The new app makes it more difficult to get the jobs you want. When you the the notifications (with no sound) you click on it but it does not take you to the new job. It takes you to a long list of jobs that only have date and time. It does not have the school showing like before. You have to click on it first to see the school. There aren’t a lot of jobs near me so these changes have me nervous about not getting to jobs fast enough.

Great Update from the old App

I love the look of this new interface. Great color scheme as well as great design. The functionality of the app itself is great so far! Much easier to see all shift info as well as needed to update shifts and such! Great steps forward!

Horrible, Horrible Interface

The app was “simplified” alright! Not that it was ever great to begin with, but now when browsing for available substitute positions, one must individually tap on each listed job opening to see what school the job is for! How inconvenient! On top of that, it is nearly impossible to keep up with what job openings have been viewed and what ones haven’t. This makes it EXTREMELY difficult to tell whether one has checked each listing or not to see what is best for him or her. Beforehand, the job openings were listed in a user-friendly way—all of the school names with available jobs on the front page. Absolutely horrible design now. Incredible it could get worse than what it was before.
