Good For Short Game Only
I have been using pretty consistently for past few months. The distance is accurate with irons but since the upgrade to 2.0, this thing will not pick up my driver. Nothing. Adjusted the height, ball placement, lighting. Using the marked balls. Nothing works. Misses every driver hit. It was already about 30 yards short, now it’s useless. The upgrade is terrible.

Square golf sim
The app is excellent, ball data is excellent. I would like to see this running on Mac OS. Should be an easy thing to achieve. Online multiplayer would be a game changer.

If I could get to them the improvements would be great based on the PC app…
This would be a 4.5 if that were possible. Most of what the app does it does very well. Navigation is clean, understandable, and the screens are easy to read. The iOS version of the app has nearly all the features of the PC version except for connection to 3 party sim software. There have been some great updates to the app so I really hope it continues to get attention from SQUARE as there are some things that could make it be even better.
For example…
It would really be helpful to provide access to alignment tools in the app at any time. If it gets knocked off line after a session has started you have to leave what ever your golf function you are doing to access the alignment function. Which means you must start a new session (even in the middle of a round) or just hope it is good.
The export of session data for putting practice (something the unit does way better than most) fails to provide accurate data - the CSV only provides columns of gibberish. I believe the range data export works.
Also, the logout is cumbersome, requiring way too many steps.
Shot data disappears from the screen WAY to quickly when playing one of the provided courses, - it would be far better to allow it to remain on screen until a new ball is placed in the ready zone.
That said the things the app does make the SQUARE launch monitor a real value proposition. Putting is something most launch monitors struggle with, unless you are willing to pay 20x more than the cost of a SQUARE. Ball data has proven to be spot on and club data seems reasonable even though much of it is calculated. Play on the provided course feel realistic and is enjoyable so I can’t wait for the additional courses.
The only real complaint is not with the software or hardware but with the responsiveness of the USA support team. Folks in the online forums have found it to be almost non-existent, so it is good thing there is very little need because for most folks things just works right out of the box.

Used to love it
The recent 2026 software upgrade isn’t great. Yardage on each shot is gone and the distances are way off. I’ve tested versus on the actual range and verified distances are way off. Additionally courses used to be free to play now you have to use credits. Very disappointed…..
Metrics not available
Happy to see an update, but I was excited to see they added club head speed, and it seems like it’s not working. I really hope that doesn’t mean I can see it on my device if it’s only meant for Omni, would be disappointing.

Bad update
I was LOVING the Square prior to the 2.0 update. I had replaced a Garmin unit that missed a lot of shots and The Square was working great. Through several rounds it had never missed a shot. Today I was forced to upgrade and now it has missed several shots with the green light locked on. There is also a problem with the carry distance adjustment. I live at high altitude. The adjustment will show a longer ball flight on the pre shot map but it doesn’t change a thing for actual shot distance. At home my 150yd club is a 9i. On the Square my 9i goes 130 and I can’t adjust anything. Why do we update something that was working great? I’ll change my review if there’s a software fix. So disappointed.

Super Golfsimulator für Training und Runden spielen
Ich habe mir den Square Golf Launch Monitor gekauft und verwenden ihn mit dem IPad Pro. Es funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Flugbahn wird sofort angezeigt und grafisch gut dargestellt. Ein super Tool zum trainieren und Runden spielen. Die Genauigkeit ist für den Preis sehr gut! Vielen Dank an das Square Golf Team und ich freue mich auf die zukünftigen Weiterentwicklungen.

App Losing credits
I would recommend prospective users to wait 6 months to a year for them to work out the bugs on this. The app works great but the account system has broken on us multiple times requiring us to make new accounts and buy new credits. We have contacted support and received no solution. Might be a designed flaw to get users to buy more but I wouldn’t recommend this product to others until they figure out how to fix this

Needs Polish - but great to start!
If you’re just using the driving range, this works really well, but isn’t great with saving your data. If you’re using it to play the courses, they could use a bit of help. Few wish list items would be 1. Ability to add swing matrix to your driving range data 2. Historical driving range data view 3. Ability to change suggested distances when mapping shots on the course 4. Ability to save course scores for historical comparison 5. Ability to remove course “terrain penalties” so that you can use your own rough or sand mats

I have improved a lot with my putter and wedges with the closest to pin feature (love it)
The courses a very nice and detailed, on a TV they look amazing. Some courses are very difficult and narrow but I think it’s good for training (I started playing golf 9 months ago)

I can’t count how much money I have already saved in driving ranges and in public golf simulators, and my game is going noticeably better while in the real golf course.

After playing for a few months I se a few things that could be improved.
Putting:
If the ball doesn’t have the perfect speed, it just pases over the hile and stops 1 foot or 2 after. It maybe happens 3 or 4 times per game. It is really annoying.
Driver:
For some reasons, sometimes the monitor doesn´t see the ball when you hit it even after saying “ready” and led being green.
That only happens with the driver, not iron nor the putter.
I hope these things can be corrected soon because they are annoying when they happen.

현재 그래픽 모드에서도 텍스트 가독성이 떨어져서 실시간으로 데이터를 인식하기가 쉽지 않으니, 전체적인 UI의 가독성과 배치를 개선해주셨으면 합니다.

Very Happy Customer
So far, I’m really happy with my Square. From putting to driver, the data feels spot on, very comparable to what I’ve seen on a Trackman. It’s been accurate, consistent, and a great tool.
I also appreciate how regularly they push updates. It really shows that the team is listening to customer feedback and constantly working to improve the experience.
A few suggestions that could make it even better:
1. Club Head Speed – This would be a great addition to the metrics offered.
2. Par 3 Courses – Having access to shorter courses would be awesome, especially for quick rounds with my wife or friends who are new to the game.
3. Hole Specific Practice-
It’d be great to start from or repeat a specific hole, particularly for working on par 3s or challenging setups.
All in all, I’m very happy with the purchase. The app is intuitive, the hardware performs well, and the overall experience has exceeded expectations!

Cannot Login
Purchased my launch monitor last week and have had it setup for three days. I have yet to be able to login to the app. Only guest login works, which does not allow for course play. There are plenty of people on message boards having similar issues over the last handful of days. This is ridiculous after spending $700 on a little plastic piece of junk, if it doesn’t work.

Works well. Some bugs
Overall, really happy with the launch monitor. There are a few areas that need polish. 1) Bug: accessing the mulligan feature causes the game to freeze and you have to end the course and restart. 2) I’ve had times where it reads the strike perfectly 50 times in a row. Then there are times when it doesn’t read the strike multiple times. I reset and it works again. 3) Still no swing speed on club data.

Game changer
Very easy and simple to use. Does seem a little early in development but it’s got a lot of potential. The latest update has fixed a lot of my concerns. Would love to see competitions, handicaps etc. Make it more social.
