Year old articles
I enjoy reading articles from the Pioneer Press and want to support local journalism. However, when the articles in my newsfeed are 6+ months old, it’s difficult to want to continue subscribing.
Forced updates
Heres a typical subscriber use case. 1. See a notification that piques interest. 2App shows you the article but it’s blocked by a nag telling you to update to 10.4.2 first. 3. Scream at your phone because this is a stupid little incremental update, relax. 4. Go do App Store to update. Takes a minute cuz the app is bigger than it needs to be. 5 Open the updated app. Your article is now gone. 6. Head over to startribune.com

Standards
The St. Paul Pioneer press is a fine newspaper good journalism quality, opinions, and good writing. If you live in St. Paul Minnesota, I recommend downloading this application.

…Are stupid
Junk
Junk app from a junk newspaper
No notifications
I used to get Pioneer Press notifications from the app, but I can’t remember the last time I saw one. I know they’re still sending them because a friend of mine showed me she’s getting them. Nothing wrong with my settings. It would be nice if this got fixed, I hate missing news.
Great but …..
Great but what set the pioneer apart was the limited paywalls or none at all. Cannot truly enjoy a paper that nickels and dimes you
Terrible App
This has to be the worst app on my iPhone. Constantly when I tap on an article to pull it up, nothing happens. It’s tap tap tap and the I give up and read the news on KSTP’s app which actually works!
Ads to subscribe when I am already a paid digital subscriber
I am a paid in full digital subscriber. After I long in, an ad to subscribe keeps popping up. Interfering with my reading articles.
It is extremely irritating.
To the point that I am considering switching to the other metropolitan digital paper.

What an embarrassment
This app has been so bad for so long. I can’t believe you don’t do something about it check out the reviews doesn’t that tell you something.
When I first started the Pioneer Press, I logged into the app one time to access the print edition. Now I log in “every” day! Should have left the old app alone.
Could not even login
Worthless, about as good as the paper
Worthless
At first I thought I didn’t understand how to use the app. Lack of content and a poor layout I’m deleting the app.
Worst 3 Dollars I've ever spent
Subscribed for a year for 3 bucks... Boy did I get taken. App hasn't been updated for a full year! Guess the owners think everything is great?
Horrible redesign!
Who thought it was a good idea to stop showing the pages from the current print edition? They should be fired. The new format is terrible. It does not include all the sections found in print. If this does not change back to something more like the old format, I will be cancelling my subscription.
(Ideally, create something with the best features of the TWO previous apps. Let me see the pages and enlarge the image. And let me click to view all the text for a given article AND be able to enlarge that text as well.)

Scrap It
Very unfriendly to read. Build an app that can read like a newspaper.
Why auth0.com?
Why are you asking for access to auth0.com for login. If I wanted to share my information, I would permit it through the Apple interface on privacy. I deleted the App, diminishing the value of the subscription.
This could be the worst app in the history of apps
Terrible newspaper. I have to call in at least once a week to get a refund for no delivery of paper. So, then if you try to use this app, it is slow to load because of all the advertisements. Then if you go into an article, you cant get out, because the back arrow doesn’t work. Probably because they haven’t done any maintenance in years on it. Too bad you can’t give it zero stars.

Half baked
Tried to look at local weather - app took me to webpage which promptly locked up for 45 seconds and then had a pop-up trying to get me to subscribe even though I was logged in.
Just terrible
Just read the other reviews. They clearly don’t care about the apps functionality. You’d think charging $11.99 a month for something you’d put a little effort into making sure it works. I guess they’re just sticking with the old paper strategy. I’m sure digital is just a fad so they’ll be fine.
