What's New in Star Chart

3.98

November 17, 2015

This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. A few bug fixes: - Fixed occasional crash when selecting constellations, either from search or by directly tapping on them. - Star Chart now understands that Pluto has 5 moons, not 4. - When running in an English variant other than US English, planet/moon order text was not displaying correctly.

Amazing chart

This app is very easy to use and shows you all the stars you can see and more!!

Language change and not fix

The language for the name of the starts has changed to Arabic or Latin and can’t be changed back to the English names. Hugely frustrating.

A Great App for Stargazers the World Over….and Beyond?

Well designed, functional, enjoyable guide to the stars & planets.

¿Estafa?

He comprado una mejora llamada “satélites” y me la han cobrado, pero sigue sin funcionar. No sé si será una estafa o un mal funcionamiento. Seguiré esperando a ver qué pasa.

FAQ

What does Star Chart do?

Star Chart is an augmented reality astronomy application that allows users to identify celestial objects by pointing their device at the sky. It uses GPS and a 3D universe simulation to show the real-time positions of stars, planets, and moons. You can also explore planets in 3D and learn facts about what you see.

What are the key features of Star Chart?

Key features include augmented reality identification by pointing your device, a 3D simulation of the universe, real-time tracking of celestial bodies, and a 'Time Shift' feature to view the sky up to 10,000 years in the past or future. It also displays constellations, deep sky objects, and provides detailed information on tapped objects.

Is Star Chart free to use?

The application is currently free to download and use. While the core functionality is available for free, there may be in-app purchases available for additional content or features, as indicated by the app's monetization model.

What devices is Star Chart compatible with?

The app is designed to work across a range of iOS devices, dynamically scaling its visuals and capabilities. Augmented reality mode is available on devices that include a built-in camera.

How can I use Star Chart to learn about the night sky?

Simply point your device at the sky, and the app will identify what you're looking at in real-time. You can also explore the solar system in 3D, learn the names and positions of constellations, and use the 'Time Shift' feature to see how the sky has changed or will change over millennia.
