The StarGazette e version is a very convenient and low cost way to read about the hometown while away.
Usually works well, and provides the same news as the traditional paper.
Occasionally issues pop up… broken or inaccurate links, rare total failure to access the e paper.
The standard web format seems to always work, but it is difficult to locate all the sections of the e paper due to the random access format vs the series e paper.

It’s excellent, and user-friendly on the app. Would highly recommend paying the nominal monthly charge.

I enjoy reading the Star Gazette online!! The site is very easy to scroll through. However, I wish it had more current sports scores, current statistics, and more stories about teams in Chemung County. Also, I don’t like the fact that you discontinued the television listings for our area.

I always enjoy keeping up with what is happening in and around our community. It’s nice to know we have a local newspaper that keeps us informed without all the fake-believe news we are faced with every day on other news media.

A piece of crap
Constant crashing and customer service doesn’t have a clue and says to use the browser. Well if that is the case, why even have an app?
Frozen and unusable!!
The app worked well for me for several months, but for the last week or so it freezes within seconds (as other reviewers have noted). Reinstalling the app did nothing. This is sad! I love waking up to the paper! Hopefully it gets fixed.
Star Gazette Print Edition
Very good, full function app on my iPad (edit: ...when it works, after several days it opens briefly then closes before selecting an edition. Uninstalling then re-installing is ineffective) Previously wrote: The print edition allows for quick review of articles of interest. I appreciate the ability of two “finger tap” on an article to launch a classic digital reading.

Freezing Star Gazette!
The Star Gazette representative tried to blame the problem on my device. That was the last straw! Everything else on my device worked perfectly. We called several times over the last month to have this problem of the freezing page resolved, but were unsuccessful. Yesterday, we finally said the frustration was too much! We cancelled the subscription.

Keeps freezing up
I have to uninstall it and reinstall it to get it to work. They stopped delivering the paper so this was the alternative

I have used this app for a couple years and at first it worked fine. I used to get the physical paper so I liked this format. For a week or more I cannot read it...within a few seconds it freezes. I cannot do anything. I called and get someone “off shore” and they do nothing for me! About to quit subscription.

App is no better than print edition
The app constantly freezes and crashes. I also have a print subscription. 50% of the time the paper isn’t delivered at all. Both Electronic and print editions will disappoint.
