So fun and nostalgic but sadly very broken
I’ve played this game since I was probably 7 or 8 years old (I am now 19 for reference). It is so nostalgic and I’m so happy that it’s still up and able to be played! That’s why I’m giving this game 3 stars and not lower. There are fun things to do still, and it’s so nostalgic.
But, since it is so old, it’s got a lot of flaws. It hasn’t been updated in 8 years, so there is so much that doesn’t work anymore. You can’t connect to Facebook anymore, so you aren’t able to go to the bar and flirt anymore because you have to add friends to do that. Speaking of, you aren’t able to finish all the quests because one of them is related to flirting at the bar. You aren’t able to save your progress in game or contact customer support anymore either. You used to be able to download a yoga challenge dlc in the carnival area, but it doesn’t work anymore and it’s not able to be downloaded. You aren’t able to enter the fashion competition area once you reach a certain level anymore either. The travel area also does not work anymore (unless you had to purchase vip to get it, but I’m not sure). One of the worst problems in the game though is the lack of stores. There are many storefronts, but most say “coming soon” or look open but are just completely broken. The stores that are broken are Cosplay Star, Star Diva, Star Wow, Star Dazzle, and Rock Star. Everything else you are able to access, but that only leaves six stores that are open, and one isn’t even a store since it’s just where you purchase the vip package at. Speaking of, I have not made any in app purchases, so I can neither confirm nor deny that those still work.
Unfortunately, so much is broken now that you’re not able to do very much anymore. You can still date, shop, play mini games, dress up and do your hair and makeup, complete jobs, receive messages from suitors, and receive gifts from your boyfriends. Beyond that, there isn’t much else to do because so much has stopped working. All the other Star Girl games by Animoca, as well as Style Queen and Beauty Idol, are the exact same way as this one because their last updates were 8 years ago (though Beauty Idol is virtually unplayable now due to all the glitches). It makes me so sad because these apps have so much potential, but the developer team won’t put in the effort to update them anymore. Personally, I wouldn’t get this app unless you are nostalgic like I was and enjoyed it back in the day, because other than that, I don’t think it’s worth a download anymore unless there’s an update someday.
If the developers are somehow reading this review, BRING BACK STAR GIRL AND LISTEN TO YOUR PLAYER BASE. People across social media apps are begging for updates, but you guys won’t listen to us and ignore us. Update this app please so we can actually play again. You still have fans that want this, as well as all the potential players from the younger generation that could play this game if it was fixed and brought back to what it was during its peak. We just want you to fix the game and listen to your game’s players.

If you know star girl its cute and fun but there’s one issue that i have and it’s that very first quest at the bar “flirt in first sight” it needs you to add facebook friends but obviously if you’re still playing like i am you cant since there’s no way to do that and the servers are down im making this to say take the facebook option down or put some other option to bypass it i wanna do quests without being stuck because of some facebook needs like please then you want people to put money into the game too? Please take the facebook thing down or fix the servers it’s ridiculous

UPDATE: There is a big problem, I can no longer buy promotions in pageants! All it does is give me the loading screen! I’ve tried to restart my phone, nothing. I’ve uninstalled the game to try & fix the issue (note: my account is hooked up to Facebook so I figured I could easily get back in) & now I can’t even get back inside my account, all I get is the loading screen yet again. Please fix this immediately! I’m not the only one who is having this issue.

Maybe instead of one street add two, or maybe instead of streets, actually add new places; like a park, or a beach, etc etc. It would also be fun to see traditional events like a summer carnival or something similar for every holiday. This game is good, but it could be so much better :)!
