Star Walk 2 Plus is an augmented reality stargazing app that uses your device's sensors and GPS to display a real-time map of the sky. You can point your device at the sky to identify stars, planets, constellations, and other celestial objects, and learn about them.
Key features include a real-time sky map, 3D models of constellations, a 'time machine' to view the sky at different dates, deep sky object identification, detailed information on celestial bodies, and an augmented reality mode.
The app is free to download and use, but it offers in-app purchases. This means you can access core features for free, with options to buy additional content or features.
The app's 'Visible Tonight' section highlights upcoming astronomical events and celestial objects that will be visible from your location. The 'What's new' section also provides updates on the latest news from the world of space and astronomy.
By pointing your device towards the sky, the app's 'Star spotter' feature uses your device's gyroscope to match the on-screen map with the stars you see. This allows for effortless identification of celestial objects in real-time.
