Updated review

Giving a fair update eventually I found where one needs you cook to edit a character. I wish the stats would automatically update as you incorporate race theme etc to the character. Many items seem to be missing as well. That being said it does do the basics for a digital sheet

In desperate need of an update

4 years, no updates. App doesn’t do the heavy lifting for leveling up, but once you’re done having it set up it’s a good resource. Needs tweaks though. Hephaistos needs an app.

Awesome app, but I want more!

This app has everything you need for character creation in starfinder. I like that a lot of the math is built in with race and class bonuses being applied upon selection. The one thing I wish this app included was starship sheets as well.

Works ok

It gets 2 stars because there is no way to print the character after you are finished. If you select share, you can save the character to iCloud but it saves the file with a .char file extension. The .char file can not be printed.

The app at a minimum should output a character text file that can be opened on any computer and printed.

Great for introducing players to the game

The app contains everything you need to help beginners build and manage characters. I highly recommend it!

Needs a Drone for the mechanic

This app is great, there’s not much to complain about except there’s no place to add a drone for the mechanic or any of the tricks!

Great but needs more

The base stuff is great but I wish they added more since there is a bunch of new stuff added since the last update

Great App, Needs an Update

I absolutely love this app, it is super useful. I’m just curious as to when it will be updated. It is missing quite a bit of material that has been released. That’s my only qualm.

Well, there is also the annoyance of backpacks. I wish there was a way to set a modifier for encumbrance bonuses.

Nice app with a few bugs

This is a pretty nice app for creating Starfinder characters.

There are two big bugs that have caused me a lot of problems though:
1) if you are editing an ability and don’t like it or want to change it back, the ‘cancel’ button does not work. It actually deletes the ability. (You can either save the changes you made and re-edit them or completely delete the ability even if it was correct before)
2) The ‘send’ (export) option causes the app to freeze

Very useful tool

Although I’ve haven’t played Starfinder, I’ve played RPGs (including D&D 3e, 3.5, and 4e) for over 20 years as a casual gamer and GM. This app caught my attention as I’ve bought several of the core books and wanted to try my hand at making a character.

I downloaded the free version and had a go at it (made a lvl 1 Shirren Mystic) and was pleasantly surprised. The app even caught some of my mistakes (like not realizing you get a bonus on trained skills).

The app is nicely broken up into various tabs, based on symbols (portrait symbol for tracking character stats such as HP, SP, resolve, defence, ability scores and character details, spell dust for spell section, etc.) making it very easy to navigate to the info you need. You can click on the symbols or swip right/left to navigate. Creating a character was not as intuitive but still relatively easy to figure out (after some trial and error) and just requires selecting the settings symbol (top right) and clicking on edit. I like the feature that what ever tab you are on when you hit edit will be the one it will first go into edit mode for. Outside of edit mode, app also includes a roller feature that engages whenever you click a skill, ability etc. I personally like to physically roll dice but this is a great backup (and auto adds any bonuses from the character). Lastly, I was amazed at the level of information included and very happy to have the details available. I look forward to trying out the app while actually playing.

I had to give it one less star due to what appears to be a math error with the ability scores on the portrait page/tab; my Cha ended being 6 (should be 8) and my Con was 14 (should be 12). As this is my first SF character, I could have missed something but initial checks of core book didn’t flag any errors to me.

I haven’t tried the full version yet, but appears to unlock making more than one character and ability to share the character (not sure if this across apps/devices or exports to PDF or other format that can be printed).

Either way, a great tool with an excellent interface and level of detail, even if you want to transfer info to a paper sheet.

A few changes to make it perfect

I have been looking for a good starfinder app for 3 years now and this is a true blessing. There are only a few things I’d like to advice to ensure this app becomes successful.

1. Add a viewable and editable compendium that saves your creations and allows you to copy another race, class, etc as the base for your creation. This should be the #1 change that is needed to make this one of the best starfinder apps out there, being able to reference this info on the spot in-game and being able to save any homebrew or non-included content.

2. Advertise the customer would get if they pay for the full version. Maybe when you tap on “full version” in setting it tells you what you’d get and then have the option to purchase it. I bought this both to see if anything else would unlock that was hidden but was a bit disappointed when it would just change the color of text boxes and background (especially since Space to me looks the coolest)

3. If you want to make some extra money, limit the number of characters to only one on the free version and unlimited on the full version. That way people get a good free trial and if they want even more they can pay to support you and benefit themselves

Nice, but needs more content

Overall a nice program, but it’s missing quite a few races from the core rules (all of the classic Pathfinder races) as well as newer content like from Alien Archives or the Character Operations Manual.

I understand there could be copyight issues with only being able to use what’s in the SRD, but I’m pretty sure all of the rule-books, as opposed to setting, are OGL.

Then again it hasn’t been updated in close to a year as of this writing, and only ever had one update,so I imagine the developer simply lost interest and abandonded it.

Decent app

Easy to use and modify. No big frills.. but very useful.

Neat

Pro: It’s a nice digital Starfinder character app. Pretty easy to use and add homebrew materials (or official materials that just aren’t in there). The in app dice roller is handy. Many of the Core Book stuff is already in the app, so you won’t spend much time copying and pasting when starting out.

Con: There doesn’t appear to be any way to edit the compendium in there (which means updating existing options is impossible) and once you create a new material, you have to start again in a new character (I discovered this with halfling race). It’s also crashed a few times in the middle of making a character, so make sure you save often.

Overall it still has some bugs but it’s handy on the fly and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Great app, but I do have a question

The ability to add content is great, however I’ve run into a problem trying to add the biohacker class. When adding class features, how exactly do you add “options” to them, such as the operative’s specializations?

Almost there

Quite a good first go, I will be giving it a go but I can see there are a few things that need polishing.

Keep going at it as it has lots of potential.

Best mobile Starfinder App

I just recently found this app exist because I’m going to be playing my own Starfinder game. It’s a little clunky but it’s pretty straightforward once you can figure it out the first time. Character concepts are easy to hammer out as it makes the character stats from race and theme added in along with the class. Small tweaks are needed to make this perfect but over all great app. Support the app by buying it. Free versions nice but the full is much nicer having the ability to create multiple characters and just for fun the themes.

Probably the best SF app you’ll find.

I was looking for a SF app similar to pathbuilder 1 and 2 for android and this is almost perfect. Menus are pretty easy to navigate, and there’s a lot of little details and quality of life stuff that I really appreciate. Definitely the best character builder I’ve seen for SF.
My only complaints so far are that, I’ve noticed that +LVL doesn’t actually add your lvl to damage rolls even tho it says +lvl in the weapon edit. And not all of the equipment is listed in the app, so you still might have to look up some weapons and gear and add them in yourself.

Love it just needs updates

Love this app. Just needs more updates for the missing content.

Would like to rate higher

But the ads block the ability scores so I can’t use.
