About

StarGazer turns your iPhone into a live window on the sky. Hold it up and the stars, constellations, planets, the Moon, and satellites appear right where they really are, and they move as you move. Point it at the ground and keep looking: StarGazer shows the sky on the other side of the Earth, as if the ground were glass. FEATURES - Point-and-look sky map that follows your phone using its compass and motion sensors - More than 5,000 stars and all 88 constellations, with lines connecting each figure - Names you actually know: the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Orion's Belt, Summer Triangle, and other famous star patterns, plus everyday names like the North Star, the Great Bear, and the Red Planet - True relative sizes: brighter stars, planets, and satellites are drawn bigger on one shared scale - Center highlight: whatever is in the middle of the screen gets a large name, plus the constellation it's in - Guided finding: search for a star, planet, constellation, or satellite and get plain-English directions ("Turn right 40°, tilt up 15°") until it's centered, with a buzz when you find it - The Sun, Moon, and all seven other planets, calculated for your exact time and place, with the Moon's current phase - Satellites on demand: the International Space Station, China's Tiangong station, the brightest satellites, and optionally Starlink, with sunlit and shadowed satellites drawn differently - See through the Earth: point down to see what's below your horizon - Tap anything for details: altitude, direction, brightness, distance, and more - Night-vision red mode to protect your dark-adapted eyes - Optional camera view to line the stars up with the real sky - Manual mode: drag to explore the sky from anywhere - Works offline. Only satellite data needs a connection. WHO IT'S FOR Backyard stargazers, campers and hikers, parents answering "what's that bright star?", students learning the constellations, and anyone who wants to catch the ISS passing overhead.
