Inaccurate

An improved interface over ClearOutside but I’ve found it to be less accurate. I don’t know if it uses a different source but it is too often wrong and certainly not worth paying a subscription.

Perfect app

Simple and easy to use. No ads or paywalls.

Thanks so much for the review!

Good in theory but…

Not as good as the sun app. Also seems same info and layout as the free app called ā€œclear outsideā€.
That doesn’t ask for payment for pro features and has future and a timestamp along the top! Also if text size is increased it cuts off the time….

Response from developer

There’s naturally some overlap with other sky and forecast apps, but Starglow is built as an independent product with ongoing costs (especially for weather data), so Pro helps support continued development and improvements. Some other tools are supported through ads or by promoting astronomy gear, which helps cover those costs in different ways. The text size issue you mentioned is a real bug though, and that’s on me, I’ve got this fixed, with full Dynamic Type support coming in the next update. Thanks again for giving Starglow a try!

So helpful!

I use this every evening and enjoy its many features.

Easy to read but…

This needs some explanation on colors and what each row means. I just need to know if I can take photos of stars on a particular night. Add some quicker info.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. This will be in the next update to Starglow!

Great potential

A quick and easy way to predict cloud conditions for photographers. Still in development/growth stage but I’m sure this dev will improve and perfect as time goes on based on other app: ALPINGROW. < — you should investigate.

App Design

I enjoy using alpenglow (though not always accurate) so I thought I’d give this app a try. Very straightforward, but I do wish that there was a short description or information to explain each component. As well as an ability to change the temperature and time measurements. Hopefully they can add some features that are on alpenglow to make the app more visually pleasing.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. The temperature and time should be based on your device settings now. The next update will include an explainer on the information on screen, what each color means and various iconography.

5 stars for general idea

But I’d love to have settings like in Alpenglow—at least so I can change C to F. Thanks

Wow! Great forecast for night sky and more!

Our daughter found AlpenGlow, which accurately forecasts sunrises and sunsets, and as soon as I saw there was a chance for this Starglow app, to forecast seeing the night sky, I signed up for it.

Starglow is NICE!

For each hour of the day it shows the suns and moon brightness and how the weather and cloud cover factor into being able to see or not see the stars and planets and other objects in the sky.

All the information is in an easy-to-read tabular format.

So nice.

Thank you, Andy, for this great Starglow app!!
