Hate the update
I’ve had this app for almost 10 years and have LOVED it until now. You can’t see the lines of the brushstrokes anymore, it doesn’t let you long press to go “in” the painting. Also previously you could enter the painting and do a cool effect, it would look line a galaxy or something. Which was my students favorite part. I wish that would by brought back.

Thank you for your honest feedback — and for supporting the app for nearly 10 years. That kind of long-term use truly means a lot to me. I wanted to let you know that I have updated the app, and the new version (6.2) addresses all the issues you mentioned. Brushstroke visibility has been restored, and the immersive “dream / galaxy” experience is back. One change to note: long-press is no longer used for "entering" the painting. Entering and navigating the painting is now done through the UI buttons, as there are four modes to choose from: Navigate, Interact, Screen Saver, and Dream Mode. If version 6.2 restores the experience you loved, I’d really appreciate it if you’d consider updating your review — it truly helps an independent artist keep the project alive.
I have had this app for 13 years on my phone
Recently updated, it always have brought me calmness and relaxation. Something magical. Free, simple just a painting. Thank you! Who ever you are you rock.

Great for kids
It may be old, but it’s still excellent. Great for kids and adults just to play around with.

I've owned this app for the better part of a decade now and would like simply to say: it brings me joy every time I play with it.
I don't open the app often (usually I forget it's on my phone!) but when I rediscover it, it is like being a child again playing with a loved toy. Simple yet ingenious, I feel Starry Night embodies what all apps should strive to be.

If you struggle with depression and anxiety...
This is an app that might be very useful to you. I have tried meditation apps, even YouTube meditation videos. This is something different. I've had it for a few weeks. Almost every time I've used it, it helps get me "out of my head", and if you have ruminating thoughts, you'll know what I mean. The music is soothing, especially playing it through my Bluetooth speakers. I've found that interacting with this app can be very relaxing for me. This relaxation can linger even after I close the app. Please give this app a try.
