About
StationWX turns raw ASOS and AWOS surface observations into clear, decoded aviation weather — and tells you when the station itself can't be trusted.
THE STATION IS THE STORY
Most weather apps stop at the METAR text. StationWX watches the stations: 2,668 U.S. ASOS and AWOS sites with live health status, maintenance-flag analysis, and decoded observations — plus NOAA 1-minute data for the 920 federally certified ASOS sites. Everything is fetched directly from NOAA, the National Weather Service, the Aviation Weather Center, and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet. There is no backend server in between.
SEE THE WEATHER, NOT THE CODE
Every METAR is decoded into plain language — wind, gusts, visibility, ceiling, temperature, dewpoint, and altimeter — with the raw text one tap away. Stations are colored by flight category (VFR, MVFR, IFR, LIFR) so you can read an entire region at a glance.
