Excellent App, needs improvement and more options

I have purchased this app in various departments. This is my first time, I’m purchasing such music writing and composing app.
However, please provide and change the following:
1) The “level of loudness” such as mf, ff, mp, etc requires options to cancel out from displaying if I don’t need it
2) In most cases, the lyrics are written below the staff or notes. Here it is above the staff or notes.
3) The “direction of bow” (violin) gets displayed below the particular note or staff. Normally it should be on top of particular note or bow.
4) Please provide options to choose the size of fonts for Title, author, composer, etc and also to option place it anywhere around the top of the page

Please provide these options. Otherwise, this App is great. Keep it up!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing Staventabs! We're very grateful for your support, especially as this is your first music notation and composition app. We're happy to share that most of the features you're looking for are already available in the app! 1. Dynamics (mf, ff, mp, etc.) To avoid displaying the same dynamic marking repeatedly, select the subsequent notes and assign them the same dynamic level. The marking will then appear only where the dynamic level changes. 2. Lyrics below the staff Open the Instrument Editor, select the desired track and open Notation Forms. There, you can drag the Lyrics form to change its position relative to the staff and arrange the notation forms in the order you prefer. 3. Bow strokes above the staff You can adjust their position in the same Notation Forms section by moving the Bow Strokes form above the staff. 4. Title, composer and other score information You can adjust the placement of these fields in the Layout settings, accessible via the gear icon. Under Title Area, you can choose where the title, composer and other information appear on the page. Please note that this feature is part of the Advanced Composing in-app purchase. As for font size customization, we're planning to add this in one of the upcoming updates. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and support! We hope these tips help you get even more out of Staventabs. If you have any other questions or would like more detailed instructions with screenshots, please feel free to contact us at support@staventabs.com. We'll be happy to help!

Great functionality, a bit tough on my battery

I really like this app. It has a bit of a learning curve, but the more I learn how to use it, the more I appreciate it as a music tool.

Unfortunately the app seems to eat through my battery fairly quickly and my iPad gets pretty hot, even when I'm not moving anything and it is just sitting idle. Could be something caused by screen brightness, though. I heard a dark mode might be coming at some point, which could help with this.

I totally recommend the app and the provided in app purchases.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review and kind words. We’re really glad to hear that you’re enjoying the app and finding it useful! Regarding performance: there are no known optimization issues on our side, the app is designed to be efficient, and it does not run any background processes when idle. What you’re experiencing could be related to other activity on the device (for example, another process running at the same time), or simply the fact that working with a bright white score means the screen stays fully lit, which can noticeably affect battery usage and heat. That said, we understand your concern, and we’re also planning to introduce a dark theme for the score in the future, which should help in such cases. It would be very helpful if you could email us at support@staventabs.com with more details about when this happens. We’d really appreciate it and will gladly look into your specific case. Thank you!

Critical Bug: Lost 80% of my work. Zero reliable backup.

I’m a paid user. This app is a nightmare. I just lost 80% of my progress on a music score I spent hours on. I even tried to manually "Export to File" several times during the process, but the exported files only contained old data from nearly an hour ago. The app claims to save, but it doesn't. There is absolutely no reliable backup system or history recovery. If you value your time and your music, STAY AWAY. This is the most unstable notation app I've ever used.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really sorry to hear about this experience, we completely understand how frustrating and stressful it is to lose work like that. The app includes an autosave system that saves the project after every 5 actions, so this behavior is definitely not expected. From what you describe, one possible reason could be that the file is being edited in a location without proper write access (for example, some third-party cloud storage providers). In such cases, changes may appear to be saved, but are not actually written to the file correctly. It’s also possible that the data was lost due to sync issues on the cloud provider’s side. We’d really appreciate it if you could contact us at support@staventabs.com with more details about your situation. This will help us investigate the issue as quickly as possible and make sure you can use the app reliably going forward. Your experience is very important to us, and we truly want to resolve this for you.
