About
Staxel Board turns your iPhone or iPad into a touchless letterboard.
How it works: Staxel Board tracks your hand(s) in real time and registers a letter when you "click" using selected gesture. The gesture, target size, board layout are all adjustable, so the board can be tuned to a tremor, a limited range of motion, or a preferred pace.
Touchless mode runs on a standard iPad or iPhone front camera. No extra hardware, no sensors, no mount. You can also use it in a standard touch mode without camera access.
Staxel Board works directly on iPhone or iPad and also supports an optional external display. With a TV or monitor connected via AirPlay or cable, the iPhone or iPad acts as the camera while the board and the spelled message appear on the larger screen.
Who it's for: Nonspeaking and minimally speaking people, including autistic spellers, people with apraxia of speech, and anyone who communicates by pointing to letters. Used by individuals, families, speech-language therapists, and classrooms.
Requirements: Any recent iPad or iPhone with a front-facing camera. A stand or case that holds the device upright is recommended.
Privacy: Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded, and none of it needs the internet. Hand tracking happens entirely on the device. Camera stream is never saved and never leaves the iPad.
