No longer connects to Steam
Seems the app may have finally collapsed after five years without an update. Unfortunate, since the main Steam app has no social functionality.

its steam chat but mobile, works fine. I understand why it's not built into the main app because it would make it a bit harder to use so having a different app works for me at least!

I can’t even log in because it says I need to type in a code generated in the steam app but there is none generated.
Steam guard code
App asks for steam guard code but my authentication never makes one. It asks me to scan one with my phone in the other app but it’s on my phone I’m trying to use. I can’t scan my own phone.

Doesn’t work at all.
Can’t log in. Last update was 5 years ago. Idk how valve forgot about their own app, or why this isn’t integrated into the app they actually do seem to upkeep.

No Voice Chat and Redundant App
This is a very unnecessary app that doesn’t need to exist. In the regular Steam app we can already chat with our friends. Why would you create a chat app that is only limited to messaging and not include voice chat?

It’s been years of having to put up with this chat. You could have vibe coded something more respectable. Just put it back in the steam app.
a massive issue
this doesnt work at all for the ipad the old app used to have a functional chat window and this one comes along and ruins it this ends up being absolutely useless on an ipad which... generally? isnt held vertically

Downloaded it for the sole option to utilize vc unknowingly it did not have vc.
entitlements
I like the fact. I get back into the same chat rooms that were quarterly spaced out. Eve every hour of the day. It makes steps of accountability fun.
