Stellar Tour 8.0 is the biggest update the app has ever had. • Learn the sky: a course in astronomy in fifteen short lessons, from the sky over your head to the edge of the universe. Every stop is a live visit in the sky. The first three lessons are free. • Fifteen languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and Vietnamese join English, Spanish, and Icelandic, with every page, picture, and diagram translated. • Seven skies: the star figures, folk names, stories, and festivals of Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, India, and the Arabian desert, drawn on your sky beside the Western constellations. • A new look: a sky that follows the time of day, a real atmosphere, hazy ridges on the horizon, the Milky Way drawn from every Gaia star, earthshine on the new Moon, city lights on Earth's night side, and stars that blaze like suns when you fly to them. • Hubble and James Webb Space Telescope pictures on the object pages, and photographs that fill the screen. • Three reference books, How We Know, The Sky, and The Whole Story, with a glossary and new diagrams. • The Tonight widget finds its own night wherever you are, and the app uses far less memory at launch. • And a great many fixes across the object sheets, the calendar family, Kid Mode, Night Vision, the iPad, and VoiceOver.
