Basic skills, disorganized externships
Go to a hands-on MA school. You will learn far more and be far more prepared. After I graduated (110%) I had to get SmarterMA or I would’ve failed my NHA exam. I made the grave discovery upon failing the first mock exam. Showing that they only give basics and don’t go in depth. (Which you need in the med field and for the NHA).
They hold your certification hostage till you have med hours or an externship.
The externship coordinator that wrote my resume had written in practices that are not in my scope of practice and had written that I had done certain procedures hands-on when I have never done so (venipuncture, catheterization, needle aspiration, ultrasounds). If I had not caught that, I would’ve gotten into serious trouble before getting hired anywhere.
The sites they coordinate you to may not even correlate with getting the best hands on practice as a CCMA. You’re fighting for your life with the externships in every aspect.
They also charge every student different prices consistently. Some higher, some lower.
Don’t be like me, (never dealt with patients, know some knowledge but not all, now under prepared) Do yourself a favor, do an in person MA school, you will walk out far more prepared, skilled, and confident.

Don’t bother with the course.
The instructors could not be bothered to actually help you when you email them. They take 4-5 days to respond about assignment questions, and responses are usually very short with little to no actual help other than “Google it.” Which isn’t what I am paying $1,450 tuition for.
Needs update!
Love everything about Stepful! The classes, instructors and everything it has and how easy it is to learn. The only thing is this app is constantly crashing. Sometimes I have to restart my quizzes or constantly close app and reopen. It’s not ideal. We need these bugs fixed!
