Not worth the headache

Trying to create a pattern and I get 1/4 of the way through a simple pattern. Only had about 25 stitches marked out and it say it’s too large and stops working cannot add. I would rather make the pattern by hand I could’ve made 3 in the time it took to play around with this crap app.

Huh?

NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL
Want my $1.99 BACK
NO! CLUE! HOW! TO! USE!, PRINT!

Response from developer

I’m sorry you are having difficulty using the Stitched App. For guidance in using the app, please visit the Stitched website at: http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/. You can also submit questions or further comments there.

Difficult to use

Crashes a lot and difficult to use because of that. I was hoping it would be easier to make cross stitch patterns, but it’s not very user friendly. It’s almost impossible to remove a stitch that was put in the incorrect box and when ever it does go away it’s impossible to figure out how that actually happened and then the whole thing crashes and you have to start over.

I’m sorry to hear that you have been having issues with the Stitched app. I am happy to address any issues that you are having to make this a 5 star app. When editing a pattern, zooming in first (by pinching two fingers apart) may make it easer to remove an individual stitch (by long pressing the stitch). With respect to crashing, what is the size of your pattern? Very large patterns may cause your phone to run out of memory and crash. Try decreasing the size of the pattern by decreasing the scaling the target image: http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/tutorial_target_before.htm If you have need any further assistance please complete the comments form at http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/index.html.

Unsatisfied

I got this app very happy to find some cross stitching patterns. I made one with a picture of my husband and I and edited it with the stitch count, but when I go to open the pattern it just gets out of the entire app. I keep trying to open that pattern and over and over it just gets out of the app. I already updated my phone and turned it off and on and this app has not worked. I really don’t like this app.

I’m sorry to hear that you have been having issues with the Stitched app. I am happy to address any issues that you are having to make this a 5 star app. What is the size of your pattern? Very large patterns may cause your phone to run out of memory. Try decreasing the size of the pattern by decreasing the scaling the target image: http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/tutorial_target_before.htm If you have need any further assistance please complete the comments form at http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/index.html.

Don’t waste your money

You get what you pay for. This app is rubbish and keeps closing unexpectedly causing me to lose any patterns I was working on.
I should have realised when it states that “This app’s rating was recently reset”

Response from developer

I’m sorry to hear that you having been issues with the app. My goal is to make this app as useful as possible and I would like fix any issues to achieve that end. Are you working with large pattern sizes? It sounds like the app may be running out of memory if you have an older iPhone. I would recommend decreasing the size of the pattern by increasing the stitch size or decreasing the scaling of the target image. I am happy to help you troubleshoot through the feedback form at the following link: http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/. Any information on the device and iOS version you are using that you can provide will help in troubleshooting.

Waste of $2

Do not waste $2 on this app. App is not self-explanatory & not easily understandable. Could not share (save as pdf or picture) a pattern once it was created so it’s useless.

Response from developer

I'm sorry that you have been difficulty sharing a pattern. Patterns can be shared as an image with legend by tapping on the share button (the rectangle with an arrow pointing up) and choosing an app (such as iMessage or Mail) to share with. The App will then generate an image of the generated pattern along with a legend. You can also save the pattern and legend as 2 images into the Photos app. Finally, editable patterns can be shared publicly by uploading them into iCloud in the "Shared" tab. For more details, please visit the Stitched website. You may find the new YouTube tutorial there useful in getting acquainted the the features of Stitched. I want you to be able to get the most of this app, so please consider providing feedback through the webform at the bottom of the Stitched website.

Keeps Crashing, Saves Nothing

I have a pattern I'd drawn up on paper that I wanted to edit, but the app won't stay open for more than three actions, and saves nothing. Not that I know how to use it anyway, since three are no instructions, despite a Developer Response from a year ago on another review saying that that issue was addressed. I'll be contacting Apple support to cancel the purchase.

Crashes, bugs

Can't cope with bigger cross stitch patterns, very difficult to add and the remove the colours, sometimes doesn't work at all. Not enough colour selection. Can join a free website and have every dhc colour instead of paying for this app.

Response from developer

Miss Devious, Thank you for your candid comments. I’m very sorry to hear that the app has been crashing on you. If you can provide details on what is causing the app to crash (feedback can be provided through http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/) then I will do my best to fix the problem. With respect to adding and removing colors, please note that the latest version fixes issues with adding stitches. Additional DMC colors can be added to the color palette by pressing the '+' button at the end of each color series and entering in the appropriate DMC number. You can also add a color from the original image by pressing "Original" in the navigation bar to show the original image, then long pressing the '+' button at the end of a color series in the color palette, then electing a color in the displayed original image. Any additional comments to help improve this app are greatly appreciated!

Stay away, do it spend money on this

The app keeps crashing. It has poor functionality, is not user intuitive and just plain isn’t well programmed.

Glitchy

This is the glitchiest app I have ever used. About every minute it just shuts down. Lost my work twice now. Extremely angry that I paid $2 for this app. I didn’t even use the photo feature. Was just trying to creat a new pattern and it keeps Messing up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP!

Response from developer

Sarah, Thank you for your candid comments. I humbly accept your criticism and I’m very sorry to hear that you have had difficulties using the new pattern feature of this app. If you can provide details on what is causing the app to crash (feedback can be provided through http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/) then I will do my best to fix the problem. This app was originally designed just to convert pictures into patterns, so while this is not an excuse, the new pattern feature is consequently not as mature as it should be. Eugene

Disappointed

I was hoping for a quality program and ended up with one that invented colors in my photograph that weren't even there. The editing portion is clumsy and difficult at best. I feel like I am better off starting from scratch. I cannot recommend this app at all.

Response from developer

I'm sorry that you were disappointed with this app, particularly with the coloring. This app will match colors in the palette (there is a set number of DMC thread colors by default) as closely as possible to the ones in your picture. You can add additional colors in the palette (by tapping on the + button) if you would like colors that match more closely. There are multiple ways to finely tune the coloring in the generated pattern with this app, and I am happy to provide additional detailed guidance to produce the results you desire. The next update will aim to simplify the editing of patterns, and I hope it will be easier for you to use. My goal is make a high quality app responsive to user needs, so please consider providing additional feedback at: http://eliu.freeshell.org/stitched/feedback.pl.

Don't buy

Totally useless and annoying to use

Great app.

This app is great but we need a function to turn the graphs black and white when we want. Also where are the black and white threads?
