Needs some fixes
Has some minor rounding errors in calculating dollar values (#shares * share price), which accumulates in the grand total.
Would be nice to be able to modify # shares after adding a stock, but app only seems to allow deleting existing entries.

Great App
Very nice, simple app, with proportionately sized heatmap of adjustable portfolio. Wish it would let you input multiple portfolios ... maybe in a future release?
Crash issues seem fixed on 3GS
Latest seems to be working without crashes but need ability to edit number of shares (rather than delete and readd position) and should allow blank number of shares but proportional heat map would just assume 1 share or equal total value of positions. Optionally could allow total dollar value of position rather than shares... Neither makes more sense than the other without including a transaction's cost basis.

Great app
Charts still do nit work after latest upgrade. Shuts down
Works well enough
The proportional display is great, exactly what I was looking for.
I'd really like to see support for multiple portfolios and a way to import portfolios from say Google Finance or a csv file. Entering every stock/transaction by hand is tedious.

Crash
After adding a second stock, the APP keeps crashing- major disappointment
Crashes
Can't do anything with it. The app keeps closing. I can't even get as far as entering one stock before it crashes. Waste of $.99.
DGTBOB: Poor App Save Your Money
This app crashes every time I try to use it on my iPad, Even though my iOS is up to date. If they fix it and it works I will raise the star level.
Add Stock Purchase Price
This would be a lot better if you could enter the price paid for the stock. This would show gain/loss without having to do the math.
inflexible and not helpful
decided to deleate this after trying to use it. save your money.
Brilliant Metric View
Great visceral display of the equity portion of your portfolio - you get 1) a view of relative sizes of each component of your portfolio and 2) the change in direction (velocity) of the component value (price times quantity) - all on one screen!
Good and Interesting
Enter a bunch of the stocks you own (be sure to include the number of shares -- this will make the size of the rectangles correspond to the relative size of your position in each stock) and then you will be able to see at a glance what is going on with your portfolio at a given moment during the trading day. This app isn't everything an investor needs. It just provides a quick and intuitive view of your holdings. I like it. It is better on an iPad than on the iPhone. More room to show more stocks and more percentage change data.

Nice job!!
Gives me a general view of my portfolio at a glance!! No need to check every stock independently.
Just a side note: an option to be password protected would be useful.

Top of the charts!
Now this is a definite 5 star app!... It very easily tops the charts in terms of it's ability to accurately track the current value of your entire portfolio on the fly, in real-time all the while giving you and I the option to display a beautiful heatmap that replicates and reminds me of the types of heatmaps used on CNBC!
Two thumbs (and two toes) up for this absolutely wonderful app! :)
Oh and if you are anything like myself in that you hate "ads" flying across a screen (geez how annoying...lol), then this is the app for you!!!.... NO ADS, NO WORRIES!!!! yippie! :)

Works Well
Just downloaded the ap and put about 20 stocks in.......so far it's working great. Looking forward to tracking more closely.
Good enough, but unpolished
Really basic app that does the one thing it says it will. (Mostly.) Not sure of any other app that does this, as the SmartMoney website does. Will not show mutual funds. (On the other hand, mutual funds do not update until EOD, so perhaps a bit understandable.) Thus, I had to find equivalent ETFs and calculate the comparable value. If you have 95% AAPL and 5% MSFT, you will not be able to read the % of MSFT.
Should have an option to slightly "lie" about the proportion of a holding for the sake of being able to read the exact change percentage. e.g. pretend I have 15% MSFT and not 5% MSFT just so I can see how far down the MSFT change % is today.
Also, maybe add a "hide symbol & percentage" option: you could show someone else "how you're doing" (lots of green rectangles and one tiny red rectangle), but w/o clueing them into that you have either a total of $100 in the market or $10 million.
Good:
- basically does what it says (showing both degree of change w/ color & portion of your portfolio in size)
- very cheap
- basic / simple
- no ads
- knows to use numeric keyboard for share count, and capitalized alpha keyboard for symbol
Bad:
- does not work w/ mutual funds - do not show up on heat map (shows the name and decline %, but not decline amount in absolute value) (I tried PTTDX and SWTSX)
- typeface scales down if squished horizontally, but not if vertically
- bizarrely ignores iOS interface guidelines: for deletion of list items (delete sign and button are odd) and ordering by stock symbol
- cannot edit entries; can only add or delete
- stock name truncated to first 12 letters or so
- no About Box or Settings page
- no "force refresh" button; could add that to upper right of heat map
