About

Log a setback in a few words, the moment it happens. Your coach, an AI, offers a way of seeing it, written for exactly what happened. You grade how you took it. Over the weeks, you see how fast you let go. Log it in seconds Write what happened, or say it. Now is assumed; change it if it was earlier. The setback is kept at once, before the coach reads anything, and you can always frame it later. Logging works without a connection; the coach needs one. Start from the Lock Screen or Home Screen widget, the Control Center control, the Action Button, or Siri: "Log a setback in Stoic Power." A frame for each one A frame is a way of seeing a setback: as a test, as training, as a game, as a story, with humor, with the long view, or by asking what's yours. Your coach recommends one, written for what happened, with a note on how it can be a moment of growth. The others are a swipe away. The coach also sorts it in one line: what's yours, what's partly yours, and what isn't yours at all. Every frame has its own border, and it wears in, level by level, as you use it. Grades come only from you Once you've chosen a frame, grade how you took it, A to F, from "Kept my cool" to "Lost my cool." The app never scores you. Setbacks come back. Each one has a slider for how it sits with you now, and you can move it whenever that changes. Something heavier is taken gently, with no grade at all. Morning and evening In the morning, a short rehearsal: picture one thing you're counting on going wrong, and name the part that's yours. Your coach can keep a frame ready in case it does. In the evening, a review: look back at the day's setbacks and grade your move with hindsight, by the choice you made among the options you had, never by how it turned out. Ask about one setback Ask your coach up to three follow-up questions about a setback, such as "What were my options?" It stays on that setback. Short lessons Seven short lessons on the practices behind the app. Some come up at the moment they matter, and you can replay any of them under You. Your picture Home shows how you take things week by week, how fast you let go, which frames tend to steady you and, once there's enough to go on, what most of your setbacks are about. No streaks, no scores, no leaderboards. Private by design Your journal stays on your phone. There's no sign-up and no email. Your words go to the coach only after you allow it: the entry you're asking about, your coach tone, and which frames tend to steady you. Never your other entries. You can turn it off at any time. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Erase everything deletes your journal from your phone and your anonymous account from Stoic Power's server. About the coach Your coach is an AI (Claude, made by Anthropic). It is not a therapist and gives no medical advice. If an entry reads as a crisis, the app shows crisis lines instead of asking the coach. If you are in crisis, in the US call or text 988. Elsewhere, find a helpline at findahelpline.com. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Stoic Power is for adults, 18 and over.
