I can photograph the same rock multiple times and get a different identification each time. Very disappointing.
Best and easiest rock identifier!
I was a little concerned at first when I could only get one free identification daily. But it accurately described my free rock, and I was hooked. I purchased the lifetime license and have been identifying rocks all evening! Very simple user interface, and really informative readout of each rock’s properties! Well worth what I paid!

Disappointed
The app only gives 1 free scan/identification. This is hardly enough to check the apps accuracy. After the 1 identification you have to pay a minimum $4.99 for a 1 week use. The limited 1 rock scan provided a good amount of information so I give it 3 stars based on that alone. Just really disappointed that I downloaded the app for only 1 scan/identification before rooked into a subscription.

Just to clarify, RockPic provides one free rock identification scan every day, not just a single scan after installing the app. You can continue using the free daily scan to test the rock identifier, check the accuracy, and explore information about rocks, minerals, and stones over time. Currently being in Death Valley and surrounded by rocks, I am enjoying the app quite a bit.
I don’t know how accurate the results are yet and will further look into that but I like what it does.
One feature needed is the capability to save your photo after the app captures it.
Also the “request a feature” link appears to be missing because when I click on the text, nothing happens.
Other than that, RockPic is a fun and informative app.

It told me things I never knew to look for when it came to my gemstones. Very worth having.

Appears to identify rocks properly, although I can't verify accuracy. First rock I tried identified as "Quartzite". Helpful information included.
This App actually Works (unlike many other rock&mineral scanners -- 💥💥💥💥💥
During the past several years I have tried at least eight other rock and mineral scanning apps and until finding this one, it was a total bust. Anyway, I have collected specimens for many years and this one works reliably, including provision of detailed information about each specimen scanned and a %accuracy assessment of the identification. I am so happy and grateful to the developers (Thanks a bunch for the free lifetime pro promo deal). Even if you have to subscribe it's well worth considering. Developers, KUDOS for making an id app that actually works -- I sincerely hope you make some money off of your labors. Anyway, good luck and again, congratulations on crafting an excellent app 💥💥💥💥💥

Accurate ID of petrified wood.
Have used once so far, and it accurately identified a piece of petrified wood.
Good job on rocks
Identified 5 stones but missed the blue sapphire ring. Which is understandable. Does not recognize sea shells either. Something they could add later?
