FreeUp finds the photos and videos you can actually get rid of: byte-identical duplicates, burst runs, near-identical shots of the same moment, screenshots, and the videos eating most of your space. It cleans your photo library, and only your photo library. It cannot delete app caches, "System Data", or another app's files, because iOS does not let any app do that — and anything that says otherwise is not doing what it claims. It also tells you the part every cleaner leaves out: deleting photos moves them to Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. Nothing is freed until you empty that album yourself. FreeUp takes you there, then measures your free space before and after and reports the real difference. FINDING, REVIEWING AND DELETING ARE FREE Finding your duplicates, bursts and screenshots is free, reviewing them is free, and deleting them is free and unlimited — no daily cap, no advert to watch before something is allowed to go, and nothing you have already sorted held back until you pay. NOTHING IS EVER DELETED FOR YOU Exact duplicates are confirmed byte-for-byte before FreeUp calls them identical, and look-alikes are only ever a suggestion. Each group arrives with the best shot badged and protected and the rest ticked, so a hundred photos take one tap — untick whatever you want to keep. Favourites are never pre-selected. WHAT IT FINDS • Exact duplicates — the same file saved twice, confirmed by reading both copies through • Burst runs — grouped by the camera itself, so there is nothing to second-guess • Screenshots — found by iOS, so the count is exact • Similar photos — the same moment shot twice, compared entirely on your iPhone • Photos saved out of chat apps, listed by where they came from • Large videos — sorted by real size, with compression that keeps the date and place HONEST ABOUT SIZES iOS publishes a size for a video but not for a photo. So FreeUp counts photos exactly, measures video sizes exactly, and measures the bytes of anything you choose right before you confirm. No number here is a guess, and it says when something could not be measured rather than printing a figure it does not have. PHOTOS THAT LIVE IN iCLOUD If "Optimize iPhone Storage" is on, some originals are in iCloud and only a small copy is on the phone. Deleting those frees iCloud storage rather than iPhone storage, and FreeUp says which is which instead of folding them into one total. WHAT THIS APP CANNOT DO • App caches and "System Data" — no app can read or delete another app's files • Emptying Recently Deleted — only you can do that, in Photos • Making your iPhone faster or clearing its memory — this app removes photos, nothing else • Finding every duplicate — a copy whose date was stripped cannot be matched, and the app says so PRIVACY No account, no sign-up. Your photos stay on this iPhone — nothing in your library is uploaded or shared. Two things go out: the App Store subscription check and, if you allow it, which advert brought you here.
