Exactly what I needed
Published a book before I found this, now I’m using this for the sequel and it’s going so much more smoothly haha. Very organized, hyperlinkable, tons of resources, very happy with this app.
I love this app but it feels limited…
I adore this app but I hate that I can only use it on Apple/my phone. It’s efficient, easy to use and my go to whenever I get a new story idea but the fact that I can’t use it on my computer is tragic!

Exceptional
I LOVE THIS APP! As an unapologetic pantser, this app helps me organize my deeply layered chaos. The honeymoon period is not over, but I have not walked away unhappy or frustrated. I feel empowered and in control, not overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. When it comes to those fancy apps, I use 10% of them, never making it worth the cost. Story Planner is fun, user-friendly, and helps me to be as thorough as I want to be without getting in the way of the creative process! Several years in
I’ve been using this app to write my three stories and it is THE must have writing app on the platform. I’ve tried other writing apps and they are either limited or require payments.
Only problem I’ve had is that I can no longer sync progress I’ve made using my phone to my Mac, even though it synced before.

Easy to use and effective
Never had a crash or anything either.
Long time user
Story Planner is my go-to app for planning stories and idea capture. I deeply appreciate the clear interface and ease of use. The tagging system has become a favorite feature for me and has helped me cross reference ideas and plot through lines.
Parfait mais où est la recherche ?
Application très intéressante mais la recherche est indigente car limitée aux sujets et aux onglets mais sans définir les emplacements. On peut donc pas chercher un mot dans ce qui est rédigé, il manque une recherche générale c’est évident.
Comment avoir un accès rapide à une description ou à une ligne particulière ?

Actuellement, il existe déjà un moyen de rechercher dans le texte si vous utilisez un clavier externe : il vous suffit d'appuyer sur Cmd + F pour ouvrir la barre de recherche. Cependant, il est vrai que cette fonction est inaccessible sans clavier externe. Nous nous sommes donc mis au travail et tout est prêt pour la prochaine mise à jour, dans laquelle vous trouverez un bouton de recherche directement sur la barre du clavier à l'écran. Nous espérons que l’application vous sera encore plus utile désormais. I cloud Sync funktioniert nicht
Ich habe die APP auf dem Mac und dem IPhone, aber die Synchronisation funktioniert nicht, so sind die 10 Euro leider verschwendet.

Hallo! Es tut uns leid, dass du Probleme mit der Synchronisation hast. Das sollte eigentlich reibungslos funktionieren. Bitte versuche einmal, die App auf deinem iPhone komplett zu schließen (Force Close) und dann neu zu öffnen. Warte bitte ein paar Minuten bei geöffneter App, da die allererste Synchronisierung manchmal einen Moment dauern kann. Sollte es trotzdem nicht funktionieren, schreib uns bitte an support@storyplanner.app. Wir schauen uns das gerne genauer an, um das Problem für dich zu lösen!
I love it
For a while I’ve been using notes. No, not the app. Real notes. I still do, but mostly i just use this app. It’s so good to have everything organized and not be out of pages if you change something. It costs, but i think its totally worth it.

Story Planner has become one of my favorite writing tools, and a big part of that is its simple, fair approach: you pay once, and that’s it. No subscriptions lurking in the shadows. For the price, you get a surprisingly deep toolbox.
What makes the app stand out is the developer’s commitment. Updates keep coming, features keep improving, and it’s clear the app isn’t being abandoned. That level of support gives the whole thing a sense of long-term reliability.
As for writing features, it covers all the essentials for building a novel: characters, locations, plots, scenes, timelines, and more. But the real magic is how customizable it is. I have used this app for literally years and now that its been updated everything in there is gone. CHSNGE IT BACK. YOUR UPDATES ERASED EVERYTHING!

I cannot get it to sinc up even though I’ve tried numerous times, even deleting the app. The developers are trying to fix this issue, and I fully appreciate that.

I am writing an interactive fiction - I wanted to write the entire story here in this app… Turns out, Story Planner app is not good at all for story writing.
This confused me.. I assumed it did, because The App Store description, doesn't state: “not meant for actual story writing”
The "Storyline/Premise" section misled me. It's just one row, like an Excel sheet, and other elements (project tags, Theme & Topic..etc) these all are very distracting while typing in the "Storyline/Premise"
Why not expand it into a full blank page for focused writing when tapping on it, then shrink it back when done?
Currently, this app seems limited to story planning. Almost like the massively popular “Anvil World Building” online program.
Story Planner could be great for writing too, it just needs to expand into that blank writing canvas, but instead.. avoids it for whatever reason, almost as if scared.
Fix this for a 5-star review.

Good app for organizing thoughts, ideas, and for developing a strong foundation. I use it to plan as I write, and it helps me see where I need to put more attention.
If we are inputting a start and finish time for every scene, it would be great to see an overall timeline that is generated by it.
A section under Setting for “the world” would be great, with input spaces for maps, seasons, and distinguishing features.

Fantastic with Improvements
I’m a writer of a series and I love this app, it’s really allowed me to organize my thoughts so much better. The main problem I have is that you can’t copy over characters/locations to multiple projects at the same time. It would be such a timesaver for my series! Another thing would be to allow for selecting multiple characters/locations to copy over at once.
