About
Chart the shape of your story.
StoryCharts is a simple tool for writers who want to see their narrative at a glance. Every story has multiple threads running through it — the protagonist's inner journey, a relationship, an external plot, a mystery. StoryCharts lets you plot each thread as a line on a 2D chart and drag scenes to shape the arc, so you can see rising tension, quiet moments, and dramatic turns instead of guessing at them.
Built for novelists, screenwriters, and anyone who cares about story structure.
How it works
• Create a story and add up to ten plot lines, each with its own color
• Drop scenes onto a timeline and drag them to tune pacing and intensity
• Tap any scene to name it and see where it sits in the larger arc
• Watch your story play back as an animated sweep across the chart
• Works on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch — pick up where you left off on any device
A community of writers
StoryCharts has a shared gallery, so once you sign in you can browse story charts created by other writers alongside your own. Only you can edit your stories — other writers can view, but they can't change or delete your work. If something in the gallery doesn't belong, you can report it in one tap or block the user who posted it.
No clutter, no subscriptions, no ads
StoryCharts is free. There's nothing to buy, no account upgrade, no tracking, no advertising. Your stories are yours.
Map out your next novel, sketch a screenplay in an afternoon, or visualize the arc of a short story before you write a word. StoryCharts gives you a simple canvas to think with.
