My beloved
One of the nonnegotiable subscriptions in my life, next to the water and electricity bill.
Love supporting an independent developer; love taking some of my reading data away from the Amazon ecosystem; love that user suggestions are taken seriously and implemented. Can’t get better reading data anyway but your own spreadsheet which I’m not making.
My favorite thing about storygraph is how antithetical storygraph reviews are compared to good reads reviews. GR reviews feel like everyone wants to be a stand up comic on a social media website, with their stupid gifs and tumblr speak. Storygraph reviews feel more like genuine reviews of a book.
I don’t use Kobo. I don’t feel that not using it has impacted my storygraph use at all. I don’t feel like Nadia has sold out to Kobo or is pressuring users to switch from kindle to kobo. Just seems like a convenient addition for people using kobo that doesn’t affect the rest of us.

Rubbish
Not intuitive at all. I presume I did something wrong but I entered two books as ‘read’ and one as ‘reading’, but upon checking it had worked there was nothing registered - no books read, none reading. Anything that hard isn’t worth bothering with. Very annoying.
Great app with good recommendation and filtering features
Has a pretty great recommendation feature with a lot of inputs to narrow down the options. You can import your Goodreads library which is useful. The main thing I think could be better is the sort by option function. Currently it doesn’t have many options (pages, pub date and popular this week) and having popular this month/year/x years etc would be great so would sorting by highest rating, most favourited etc. Also theres an option to ‘only show books…’ (it gives options to choose from). Currently it has ‘not in my To-Read pile’ it would be great if we could also have ‘not in my Read pile’. But yeah great app with lots of filter options and a good book recommendation feature.

Just a bit glitchy
I’ve been using StoryGraph for about a year and really enjoy the features (reading challenges, stats, half stars, etc). I am enjoying my experience but have two gripes: I’m having a hard time finding recommendations for new reads based on my activity, and the app seems a bit glitchy. I mostly notice it not saving my progress tracking when I update it. If those worked better I’d be super happy!

Designed for Readers
I love the functionality and added features. The charts and graphs showcasing monthly and yearly trends are to die for (as a data visualization girlie). The buddy read feature is also top notch! Love that the app has personality and feels modern and designed for readers
Great App
Replacing my old, less-than-positive review because the development of the app has since addressed and exceeded my expectations on all the original misgivings I had!
Perfection
I absolutely love this app. It has that indie feel, too, where you can tell that it was built by someone within the community instead of someone from outside the community trying to make a quick buck.
Boring
The design of the app is extremely boring. My kobo and the app will not synchronize and it is not worth wasting time trying to figure out why.
All the features, none of the design
Feels like it’s built by developers who know their stuff (as a web app, not a native iOS app) but forgot to hire a dedicated UI & UX design team. Books, in general, are designed by passionate designers and typographers trying to give you their best reading experience, not so much here. In a world where Letterboxd exists this is just not good enough. The market for book tracking is there for the taking, Goodreads is a shambles, Fable is close but lacking, and the other 10 or so similar apps are just miles off spinning in their own universe.
I really hope The Storygraph get their design act together, the time of scrappy start up does good is over, time to dominate. Hire some designers (and whilst your at it a native iOS app wouldn’t hurt)

Good but need to pay for it to be better
Can only put 3-5 books up next on free version. Cant really have a true future watch list.
I wanted to love it
After reading so many good reviews, I was psyched to find a Goodreads alternative, but sadly, my search continues. It’s easy to see recent books, but I’m often searching my shelves for recommendations of books I’ve read years ago, and is a forever scroll scenario to find anything. The stats are okay, but it’s lacking in layout and engagement.

Handy little app
A friend suggested me this app to keep track of my reading list. Little did I know it would suggest me new books based on my TBR and current reading pile. The community is great and the suggestions are spot on
Love this app!!
I really love this app and is so much better than goodreads in most aspects. I would love for there to be a proper author page or a better search though with filters such as most popular being able to be applied. If i look at for example stephen king it says there are 1642 books there which can’t be correct. Also there is no need for AI features. All in all this app is really good and i love the stats and many other features.

love the content warnings
i appreciate this app so so much for the trigger warnings. i genuinely would not be able to read books at all if it wasn't for this app making sure i can check that the content of books is safe for me. thank you ❤️
Love it but the streaks constantly glitches
Its a great app and has more for tracking capabilities than most reading apps. My one gripe is that the reading streak is always glitching, so even if you’ve been reading and recording everyday it will randomly reset your streak. I use a second app that doesn’t glitch and I should have over 600 days of reading in a row, but alas… Storygraph has reset so many times I was at 23 days and now I’m at 0 again.

Better than Goodreads!!
Excellent app, it gives you more information about the books than Goodreads does and you can really easily export your library from Goodreads and import it into StoryGraph. There’s a did not finish (dnf) option for books too!
Great for audio book listeners
Thank you so much for all the options to switch. Books to audiobooks and pages to minutes. Yall rock!
loves but app needs improvement
This app is great. I love the stats, and I prefer it to all of its competitors. However it is extremely annoying how if you don’t click currently reading, then finished thoses books won’t count for ur stats. i want to use it to track how many books i have read this year, and all the books i have read won’t move to the stats that I read before i started using this app a month ago
edit: thanks for getting back to me! sorry I didn’t make it clear, but I have gone back and added dates to the books I have read in this year. I’ve tried doing this multiple times, but it still is not adding the booking into my read books this year. which leads me to believe that they don’t go into the stats unless you click read, then fished reading. not finished, then going back to change the date.

No instructions?
I’m not into computers. I love to read and just wanted to track my reading. And maybe some recommendations. But apparently you’re just supposed to know how to use the app? With no guidance. After asking the internet many times how to simply and add book with no clear answer. I deleted the app. I’ll just keep writing my information down on paper.

I want to love it
I want to love it but it’s just sooo glitchy. I’ll search for a popular book and it just won’t come up and then try it again after quitting the app and then it will find it. It’s will quit unexpectedly. Reading reviews takes too many scrolls and clicks to actually read a written review. It’s got potential just very clunky. The trackers are really where this app shines.
Dev has responded saying the issues I’ve encountered have been fixed “a few months ago” but they are still happening. I will try to get screenshots in the future. Still enjoying the app a ton and recommend it all the time.
