Fantastic app
intuitive and fun to use
Very disappointed
I was using this app to compare tracking my reading to other apps. Life happened and I needed to get a new phone, and when I downloaded the app and logged in all of my data was gone. I am very disappointed as before that I was thoroughly enjoying the app.
Continual greatness
I’ve been a user for a few years now and I love it immensely. The layout and graphics are visually appealing, the groups and bookclub features are easy to navigate, the specific rating capabilities are great.
Not only do I adore the app as it is, Nadia provides incredible transparency about bugs, updates, and planned developments.
Excited to see how StoryGraph continues to improve!

Better than GR but…
Definitely better than good reads, but man is this app really buggy at times. Sometimes I can’t even get the app to load. I’ll force close it and then restart it 2 or 3 times before it seems to even load the home page. And on days when it’s like this good luck navigating to your lists. I’m really thankful it exists and definitely recommend it, just know what to expect.

Love the app, with one note
Love this app. I switched from Goodreads because of its association with Amazon, but also because it’s user face was cluttered and seemed to demand and encourage mass consumerism. I did not feel a need to keep it for any social aspect, so I switched to StoryGraph, and I’ve loved it. It’s simplified, streamlined, and does everything I want a book tracker to do. The only note and recommendation is to improve the mobile application’s connection to cellular service. Unfortunately, I can only use the app when I am connected to wifi, and usually only my home wifi. If this was fixed, it would be a perfect app.

Intuitive, Excellent Stats & Easy to Use
I’ve been using StoryGraph consistently for a few years now. It is such a great app and has so many stats that I really enjoy reviewing regarding my reading. Additionally, there aren’t constant updates which I appreciate, and the updates we do get are thoughtful and do improve interface. I highly recommend the app

Better than GR
if you want to get off GR, this is my recommendation. it’s so much better for book tracking (though it has less of a social aspect). it’s also good if you want to avoid toxicity in the book community, as the social function is very minimal. great app!
It’s good but the UI is so clunky sometimes
- After leaving a review, pressing the back button takes me back to the review edit page
- constantly having to double tap on buttons for them to work and changes to take effect
- follow button doesn’t immediately change to following, have to refresh page for it to show
- actually…i have to refresh pages a lot while using this app

Great app
Only discovered this app recently when it started to sync my Kobo Libra Colour’s reading progress (however, it doesn’t sync side loaded books so I hope that this feature will be added soon 🤞🏻). The free version of the app is very well featured and although it’s not the most modern looking interface it’s perfectly functional. Overall highly recommended and definitely worth 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reading streak deleted
I love this app! I was going to write a 5 star review for it, however, yesterday my 200 day reading streak was deleted and replaced with a 120 day one for no reason. I found it incredibly annoying and frustrating to work that hard for something and have it represented only for it just to be deleted. I do get that it’s also not that big of a deal which is why this app is still 3 stars.

Best Book App!
I was introduced to this app a couple years and I have loved every minute since I Switched from Goodreads! This app has so many cool features. My favourite feature is the stats function that tracks every thing you read and saves the data to make into cool pie charts. I also recently bought a Kobo and the integration between my device and StoryGraph is basically seamless. 10/10 love this app and can’t recommend it enough!

Terrible Service and Support
StoryGraph completely lacks a public code of conduct or community guidelines page to protect readers and authors. Even Goodreads, their biggest competitor, has these basic safety guardrails in place.
When you reach out to support about serious issues, the response time is incredibly slow, only to be met with unhelpful deflections from Abbie. StoryGraph actively allows its platform to be used for targetted harassment under the bizarre loophole that if a user labels defamatory, real world and personal accusations that have nothing to do with the book’s text as a "DNF" note, it’s suddenly protected.
I originally left Goodreads to support a smaller, independent app, but that is proving to be a mistake. As the platform grows, their support team’s refusal to address blatant defamation shows they simply do not care about community safety, and I will no longer be recommending goodreaders to make the switch to this app. Support does NOT CARE.

Amazing stats
I love this app so much! Switched because the overall format of another app was lacking and stagnant. I heard about this one and just seeing the monthly stats had me sold. I’ve used this app for two years now and it just keeps improving. I’ve never subscribed to update emails from a developer before but this one-woman dev team is amazing and her mass emails read like she writing to friends… I’d love to be her friend, just not sure I could keep up with her awesomeness!

Best book tracker app ever
I’ve been using this app for years now and it is without a doubt the best book tracker out there. The data you get from your reading habits is unmatched. Whoever is rating this under 5 stars I will fight you.
Amazing Experience
I have had nothing but the best experience using this book tracker. My favorite function is the ability to log private, unlimited character notes for a book I’m currently reading. This has tremendously helped my own recall and eventual review when I finish or dnf, as well as my ability to annotate in general. I also love the ability to pause books if my library hold runs out, filtering reviews, seeing my stats across multiple time periods and tags. Nadia’s constant transparency with development and her kind reputation to listen and improve from user feedback is a huge plus. Anyone interested in tracking their reads should definitely consider Storygraph!

great app!
love storygraph! have been using for about 2 years. it has really helped me relearn my love of reading. this year i have started using the audiobook tracking more closely. it’s crazy to see how much time i’ve spent listening!!
i do find the daily reading tracker glitchy so i toggled that off so it doesn’t stress me out. i also wish you could select which five star reads to show on your monthly wrap up graphic (it is limited to 3). you may be able to customize this if you have the subscription though. i haven’t tested.

My beloved
One of the nonnegotiable subscriptions in my life, next to the water and electricity bill.
Love supporting an independent developer; love taking some of my reading data away from the Amazon ecosystem; love that user suggestions are taken seriously and implemented. Can’t get better reading data anyway but your own spreadsheet which I’m not making.
My favorite thing about storygraph is how antithetical storygraph reviews are compared to good reads reviews. GR reviews feel like everyone wants to be a stand up comic on a social media website, with their stupid gifs and tumblr speak. Storygraph reviews feel more like genuine reviews of a book.
I don’t use Kobo. I don’t feel that not using it has impacted my storygraph use at all. I don’t feel like Nadia has sold out to Kobo or is pressuring users to switch from kindle to kobo. Just seems like a convenient addition for people using kobo that doesn’t affect the rest of us.

Rubbish
Not intuitive at all. I presume I did something wrong but I entered two books as ‘read’ and one as ‘reading’, but upon checking it had worked there was nothing registered - no books read, none reading. Anything that hard isn’t worth bothering with. Very annoying.
Great app with good recommendation and filtering features
Has a pretty great recommendation feature with a lot of inputs to narrow down the options. You can import your Goodreads library which is useful. The main thing I think could be better is the sort by option function. Currently it doesn’t have many options (pages, pub date and popular this week) and having popular this month/year/x years etc would be great so would sorting by highest rating, most favourited etc. Also theres an option to ‘only show books…’ (it gives options to choose from). Currently it has ‘not in my To-Read pile’ it would be great if we could also have ‘not in my Read pile’. But yeah great app with lots of filter options and a good book recommendation feature.

Just a bit glitchy
I’ve been using StoryGraph for about a year and really enjoy the features (reading challenges, stats, half stars, etc). I am enjoying my experience but have two gripes: I’m having a hard time finding recommendations for new reads based on my activity, and the app seems a bit glitchy. I mostly notice it not saving my progress tracking when I update it. If those worked better I’d be super happy!
