Glitches and fees
I really liked SAN initially but now every time I click on an article I am told to join and given options but if I want to back out there is no way. I have to completely shut down the app. A bit frustrating. Not worth it to me.

Unfortunately with the new paid version I can’t see any articles per day. Sad, because this was my favorite news app. You all should really have ads for those who don’t want premium.

The recent switch to a subscription model makes this app too much of a pain to use further - deletion is the way forward for it now.
It was good while it lasted…
I used SAN for a while as my primary source of news, even over sources like AP and CNN. However, now that the app is moving over to subscription based content, I can no longer use it easily. Paying for the same news I could get from the Associated Press or Reuters is not an option for me.
That said, I do hope that SAN continues to provide quality news with actual facts and information rather than some slop that certain legacy media outlets do.

Can’t open any articles anymore
They added a premium tier which is fine but now all three articles I clicked on can’t be opened unless I pay. Really hoping this is a bug with the launch and not the new normal.

Would have given 5 stars but now they want 13$ a month. Nope. Not to mention their articles are starting to show clear biases in a platform that is supposed to be non biased.

A news app I actually read
Heard about this app from a friend and they’ve hooked me. I like that there aren’t a million stories to get through, just enough and no more. Every time I think a story might be biased to one side, they go deep on what the other side is thinking. Helps me keep up without losing my mind trying to figure out who to believe about what. Shared it with my Dad and he’s now hooked on their 10-minute news update (and he’s impossible to please). Keep up the good work!

Finally, great writing, all in one place
Straight Arrow has become one of my favorite places to read the news. The writing is sharp, thoughtful, and actually enjoyable to read. I especially value that the coverage isn’t beholden to advertisers and feels independent and focused on informing the reader. It also brings enough quality reporting and commentary together in one place that I don’t need to subscribe to a million different Substacks just to stay informed. 👀😮💨

Straight Arrow News is planning to charge a fee to read their articles. There are too many other news sources that don’t charge me money (they get their revenue from ads). I no longer am interested in Straight Arrow News.

Decent app but is ruined by..
The annoying unbypassable pop ups that want to force you into making an account so they can get and sell your information. Developers need to understand that trying to force people to surrender personal information will just cause your products to lose users. I will be deleting this obnoxious app now.

Was unbiased until ~Dec 2025
Sad to see the change in ~Jan 2026 away from data to backup all claims to now taking leaning views and telling people how to think and claiming lack of bias. Where is the data and facts from unbiased sources? Not here anymore.
