Better than 3
I’m not a fan of the new graphics but the story here was more coherent than 3 which was a total bag of doorknobs. The game play is ok, not as involved as 1&2 but passable. The bonus chapter is a bit of a tearjerker and gives Dana some closure. It’s quite touching. I’d like the old Mail voice back and the Freddie character if this title continues.

Strange Investigations 4: Truth Will Out? by LynxMinx
The game had an interesting storyline, was a decent length inclusive of the bonus chapter, groovy 1970’s graphics, and some innovative tasks, HO puzzles and mini-games. So why did I rate it so low? It should have been a wonderful adventure, but Elephant managed to ruin it by not taking my suggestions to heart and using them. The lack of touchscreen sensitivity on the gameplay interface was appalling and made it almost impossible to manipulate certain mini-games, and it necessitated my having to use a HINT in one of the HO scenes. I NEVER use hints, so that tells you how bad the sensitivity actually was! Then, of course there was NO zoom in the HO scenes, which really is important, especially since your target demographic is women over the age of 55, and not everyone possesses perfect vision! In addition, do NOT put exclamation points on the map when there is NO available action. An objective further to be accomplished should not have an exclamation point, if you have yet to obtain an inventory needed for that particular location. Some of those inventory tools were unique and entertaining to utilize, but I did not want to run around where there was nothing to do.
This game would have had a much higher rating should it have possessed a user-friendly interface. Games of dexterity and skill were almost impossible to complete! 😡 I feel like it was a waste of money, because I couldn’t enjoy this adventure, and crime is my favorite sub-genre.

This is not a review as I have not played as yet. I was asked by LynxMinx to relay a message as to how to locate the latest game which Friendly Fox just released. As many already know, the sort feature in the App Store is not very reliable, so to find their latest game sort by Edge of Reality:Legend of Greenbush. Lynx is working with Apple to try to get the issue corrected. Kudos to LynxMinx for all of her hard work. She is tireless and continues to work hard for all the players.

Not great
The graphics are really poor. The interface is sort of choppy and not modern.

I have played many games and this is one of the most amateurish that I have ever played. It is very poor computer programming IMO and incongruous in its development. Probably one of the worst games in the library.

So. Where to start. The first two games in this series were well done, carried a certain complexity and interesting plots. The third was an epic fail, so badly done I thought for a time it was the beta test version. This fourth entry rights the ship — a bit. It’s better than the last — but then, a blank screen would’ve been an improvement on that one — yet it lacks the charm and interesting plots of the first two. It’s a so-so perfunctory story with some jumpy jangles here and there, although kudos to the ‘70s style clothing and hairstyles. It’s just ok, which is a sad thing to say having played better. Elephant Games has lot a step somewhere after making some great games. Look behind you, EG. Maybe you can find that step again. Final note: no reviews are showing yet but this game has a supposed 4.7 rating. Huh?

This is one of the best games I’ve played and I’ve been playing them for over 10 years. The storyline was fantastic especially the bonus game , HOS were imaginative and loads of puzzles . 😘
