Cheaters
There is a dual algorithm that much of the players are using that are counting your pieces. I fluctuate from a level 25 to one time a level 30. Without using any help. I stopped playing because not only was the cheating losing my interest, but they were occasional times that I observed a few players moving their pieces. I brought this to the attention of the game makers and nothing happened. The game is evidently recorded. But I think on the backend they don’t really look. Not worth playing with the cheaters.

Thought I could challenge bot opponents + matchmaking stinks
In the images for the game it shows 3 different difficulty bots that you can challenge. I went to play these bots only to find out that all except the easiest difficulty are locked behind a paywall. I really have to pay for a subscription just for training bots?
Also since there were no real training bots to use to improve, I unfortunately had to play ranked to practice. There was not a single match that I played that felt fair. I’m also pretty sure 75% of my matches were just bots.

Not worth the time
They took a simple game and complicated to unusable.

I’ll never know if this is worth it, it always, always crashes on my iPad. Other games don’t. I am on iOS 15.8.7 and according to the app details this should work.
Fun when it works
Many, many bugs. Refreshes during games; sometimes requires additional log in after refresh. Reporting system inop most of the time. Game will not open after latest update. Probably a clue to give up the buggy game. Update: wrote to the developer. No response.

The latest update was BAD. Game will not start. This is not good. Bad, bad developers.
Fall From Grace
I have been a Stratego lover since I was a kid. I have used the various app versions and have learned to accept their limitations. This latest version of Stratego 5/26 is simply awful. Not sure why they took the last version and decided to make bot games terrible. It’s really a shame that this iconic version is now worthless. Keep looking for another military strategy game because this won’t be worth it.

Wildly over-complicated. Bring back the classic version.
The classic app was perfect. This is an ugly, over-complicated, over-designed, cash-grabbing mess. Packed with adds and nonsense, and the “stylish” graphics make it almost unplayable because of how small everything has to be.
Pretty good really better than i expected from the reviews.
It would have been a 5 if you could see where your opponents pieces were after the end of the game. otherwise it’s great
Bring back the Single Player Version!
I paid for, and used to play, the Single Player Version, which was awesome. I temporarily deleted it once, and now I can’t add it back! This version stinks.
Ads Galore
Tried to play a round of Stratego, yet was forced to play a 10 minute ad game instead. Deleted.
Best Stratego Out There IMHO … Playing Board Game and Online for Decades
But while it is the best out there, it is buggy. Kicked me out of the middle of games to ask me to login again. Didn’t update from one subscription level to another properly. But support is good. And they resolved the subscription issue without further problems, even gave a free month to offset the issue. But again, too buggy within games also. Will try it again at a later date to see if it has stabilized. Would really like to love this game. But it has been getting buggier than more stable lately. Good luck.

What happened to the simple version,. This is over complicated and designed for money only. Sad.
Garbage / ads
Deleted…game is trash barely any opponents and now I cannot get out of ads. Every time you restart the app it opens a new ad prior to starting a match and doesn’t let you exit regardless of time. I don’t get how anyone would be encouraged to purchase this or any of its in app purchases. Getting greedy…you already get paid by ads based on user activity and also get paid from the meta data sold how many ways do you want to make money off of a mediocre product? Got to make something worth investing into first.

Super boring without attacker advantage
Skilled OG players not only want, but DEMAND you add an attacker advantage option. Deleting this app until you fix the issue!
Fun
It’s fun, but there’s a weird glitch where for some reason I had to log in every time I wanna play the game, which is really annoying. Fix that glitch and I’d give a five star.
They just doomed it
Killed in the most recent update. You now have to pay to play against the bots. I’m uninstalling the app.
