About
Turn your iPhone into a practical wall-checking toolkit before mounting a shelf, picture, or bracket. Stud Finder combines magnetic scanning, acoustic knock analysis, and a responsive bubble level in one clear interface.
Metal Scan follows changes in the magnetic field around your phone. It can help locate repeatable signals that may come from screws, nails, metal studs, pipes, or other metal objects. Keep the phone in a consistent orientation, move slowly across the surface, and repeat the sweep from the opposite direction to confirm the result.
Wood Scan uses the microphone to analyze the resonance, decay time, and frequency distribution of a short knock. First capture a reference knock on an area you know is hollow, then compare nearby points against it. Processing takes place directly on your device; the app does not save conventional audio recordings or upload knock audio to a server.
A horizontal, vertical, and surface level is included, with a custom zero for comparing relative angles. Save findings to local history, add project notes, and review measurements later. No account is required, and there are no ads, subscriptions, or third-party tracking tools.
Stud Finder is an estimation aid, not an imaging device. It cannot see through walls and cannot reliably identify live electrical wiring. Always verify with a suitable professional detector, switch off the relevant circuit wherever cables may be present, and never drill or cut based on a single reading.
