Works surprisingly well
Had no idea a phone could do this but this app worked surprisingly well. I still don’t think it’s as accurate as a dedicated stud finder device but it works in a pinch. Was able to locate close enough to a stud and get the job done

Stud Finder is a really helpful app for DIY projects and home repairs. 🔧 I’d use it before drilling to scan the wall for metal fasteners, pipes, rebar, or conduit. The live gauge, haptic alerts, calibration, and two scan modes make it easy to use. It also stores scans locally, so your results stay on your phone.
