Unreliable, stick with TE’s free app

Loses connection constantly mid-transfer, overwrote my saved sounds, is completely unreliable. This app isn’t worth if at any cost, even free.

Response from developer

Hi, I’m really sorry to hear about this experience. Studio Field should never overwrite or modify your saved sounds unexpectedly, so I’d very much like to understand exactly what happened here. The feedback I’ve received from users who have been testing and using Studio Field has generally been very positive, so I’d especially like to investigate what happened in your case. Could you please contact me through the Support section in Studio Field and let me know which TE device you’re using, its firmware version, your macOS version, and what you were transferring when the connection dropped? Any details about what was overwritten would also be very helpful. If there’s an issue that can cause data to be overwritten, I want to reproduce it and fix it as quickly as possible. As a general precaution, I also recommend keeping a backup of your device before performing transfers or making changes to device content. Studio Field includes a full device backup feature specifically for this purpose. Thank you for reporting this.

Amazing OP-1 companion tool

This is what TE’s own software for the op1f (field kit) SHOULD be. On top of that, it is macOS universal so it works on all your Apple OS devices, from desktop to mobile. I am seriously impressed!

Hassle free OP-1 backups.

Does what it promises in style. Clean looking app with no subscription nonsense. Easily accessible backups locally and to iCloud with no lock in. More structure and flexibility than Fieldkit, with visual previews of tapes, and granular transfers of samples to and from OP. All this plus a responsive developer who cares and more features promised. I was hesitant because of the price, but the additional iOS app (with different functionality) that comes bundled tipped me over the edge. Glad I did. Less friction will hopefully mean I make more music, and that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?
