Great app
STUPID AND KICKS YOU OUT
Potential
I believe this has the potential to be awesome. But I cannot seem to figure it out. I do not know if this is the fault of the program not functioning as desired or if the program is simply not user friendly enough. I cannot seem to get out of the Demo mode to write and compose my own work. The tutorial bring only bring you to the website that reopens the app, so that proved to be unhelpful for me. I really do believe this has the potential to be awesome and exactly the app I have been searching for, I just think some upgrades need to be made. :)

Never opens
iPhone 6, iOS 8+
Doesn't matter how long you wait, Studiolab never gets past its loading screen. It shows a progress bar that just flickers and never fills. It's useless.

doesn't work.
on ipad air 2, iOS 8+ ... just never ending "set up" screen with a bar that flickers around.
Wanted to like it... Really I did.
Because a lot of thought has gone into this app already, clearly - and because I was looking for a good MIDI-based compositional tool.
But honestly I still have no idea what the heck is going on; where to start, basic workflow steps, any of that. The "demo" doesn't demonstrate any of these as far as I can tell. (PS: having worked with a few full DAWs, this app's intuitiveness is right up there with Logic and PT... As in, zero. Totally unintuitive.)
Further, you start getting nag messages about some kind of points scheme where certain features can be unlocked with an IAP. Unlock able Points? In a *music creation* platform?! So now this is Flappy Studio or something?
Finally, there is a user community (apparently) but they're on Facebook, which I ditched a long time ago. Without launching into a debate about the merits of social media, let's just say that any app dev using FB as either homepage or hosted forum is sending a strong message of unprofessionalism IMHO.
Deleted for now.

One day earthlings will understand.
This app is most intriguing - a couple of updates have been made but it is no more user friendly. To make it even more frustrating is the tutorial images and words do not match what is on the screen in front of me - crazy. Still cannot manage to get a peep out of it.
It is tempting to be unkind about this app - simply because it is convoluted, overly complicated and obtuse - but a huge amount of work must have gone into this app and can only conclude that the developers must hail from a higher intelligence.
How about a 'quick start' screen for the thickos amongst us? (Actually there is but you have to delete the app and reinstall it to find it). After which you need a crash course in Vulcan to understand it.
However, the developers must realise how complex it is to get to grips with it as this app seems to need 14 videos (taking getting on for two hours to view) to show what it can do.
Compare this with apps like Chordbot and ISongwriter where you are up and running immediately.
The complexity is exacerbated by the menu icons that are far from intuitive - what is wrong with words to describe functions? A graphic of an eye? What function is that supposed to describe? Default should be text.
I am really intrigued to see what this app is ultimately capable of but I'm not sure I have endless time or patience to get to grips with it.
Original review follows:
Blimey how complicated is this? If an iPad is intuitive - this is exactly the opposite.
Been playing around with it for an hour or more and still haven't a clue what it does or how to use it. Yes I've seen the ten videos necessary to explain it features.
I'm only hoping that this indicates its ultimate power and strength - as long as I don't get fed up and delete it.
I've heard it said that complicated is easy to produce but simplicity is hard - how true.
