Worth the money
I played for free for a long time and found myself understanding so much more. Eventually I paid five dollars for more words and I’m really happy with how much I’m learning. Thank you!
Underdeveloped game, charges you to make content
Study Quest has very little content in its own right for basic language learning of any language aside from Japanese. Well, that shouldn't really be a problem since players can add in their own flash cards to help remember Spanish words and expressions, right?
No! It costs money for players to make content for the game's developers as each item you input into this app similar to Anki, an open-source Linux application which doesn't charge you to use it, it costs you an “oin” which costs about 1¥ or cent each, which I know is a very low cost and all, but you are still charging people for crowdsourced content creation which I consider to be a donation.
Oh, and the real reason I rated this app 1 Star is because I wasn't having fun battling monsters or learning any Spanish words. Personally, I found the Match-3 battle mechanic distracting or annoying rather than holding my focus.

Best app for learning Japanese characters
This is the only app I’ve found that really helps me practice actually writing and remembering the various Japanese characters. Plus, it’s cute and fun.
It’s one of my favorite language learning apps.

Needs an update
During startup it says “ failed to reach server”

Brilliant learning tool. Been using this for a year, always some new words to learn and practice the old ones interspersed with a fun game to music with colourful background and fun characters, you being one whose design you can change and win awards for excellence. Such a fun and genuine way of learning, I love it.
My Japanese knowledge improves every time I play, highly recommend this app.

Fun, but...
...it costs you to make your own flash card deck? I started off buying a deck to figure out how the game worked, not realizing how hard it is to earn in game currency. For a language app I’d rather have ads. Maybe a weekly freebie deck would entice me to keep using the app.
Great app!
This app has really helped me improve my Spanish; much better than duolingo! The min games make it fun to learn rather than sitting through the same thing over and over. No flaws! :)
Five stars but...
Ok so ive been learning languages for over half a decade. Ive trawled countless app stores and google searches and have pretty much seen it all. That being said study quest in comparison to pretty much all its competitors (language learning rpgs which are very few and far between) is miles ahead. Im legitimately addicted to this game. However there are a few gripes i have, i didnt take off stars for them because honestly its still better than alot of others. One thing i like is the coin system as it makes vocab into something valuable to earn. However the current generation options are indeed lacking, the daily check in bonus doesnt generate enough coins and i was disappointed with the fact that despite the fact that community generated vocab required coins no coins were given to the content makers. I wouldve atleast liked to get a cut maybe 25% or so? With a rating system to insure quality. I also wouldve liked more benefits to leveling up such as increased health, more skills or higher damage.

Could be better
Effective but expensive. Oins are impossible to get enough of for an entire book. It'd be nice to earn oins with ads or something
Nice idea, too expensive
This seems like a really cool idea but the way they have decided to monetise it is unreasonable.
Basically you pay to make content then they make money off that content. No thanks!

Great app. This is such good fun to use, you hardly realise you are learning so much. Learning through play at it's best!
Great fun and an effective learning tool
Best Korean learning I've seen. Vocabulary is repeated just the right amount to make it stick. The game is very slick and looks and sounds great.
This is great
What an amazing game, that also teaches language by stealth. Super polished and lovely. Hope it dose well. Peter
Good but can be better
It's good, although I find I'm stuck learning the same this because there aren't enough ways to obtain coins (oins) or enough oins given out when earned. This makes it EXTREMELY difficult when trying to obtain more words without paying.
I think I'm learning Japanese I really think so!
I've always wanted to study Japanese, and this game is that extra incentive to do so. Addictive, fun AND you learn something. What more can I say!
Polished, packed with features and above all fun!
I've used a number of spaced repetition apps in the past, but they are so dry that I inevitably end up losing interest. Study quest is different, it offers enough options and game modes to keep me interested for a long while and it will only continue to get better as users add more study content. A great app highly recommended!

Superb!
Beautifully presented and fun too!
