not worth it

Thanks for your feedback. Sublimind uses carefully structured subliminal scripts developed using techniques inspired by hypnosis and psychology. Because of this, users currently can’t enter their own phrases. We focus on delivering high-quality, effective affirmations rather than unstructured text. We’re exploring ways to introduce more customization in the future while maintaining effectiveness. Your feedback helps us improve the app.
Has potential
Because they do not say it in the description, I will explain what the app does to the review readers. There are a bunch of choices, some free, some are $10/month or $60/year. You select the choice and it starts playing. It sounds a bit like white noise. It does not play along with other audio, so if you start Spotify or YouTube, it stops. If you return to the app, you have to manually start it playing again. While it would be nice if it could play along with other audio, I don't think this is something an iPhone is or ever will be capable of, so be aware. So, aside from not being able to play along, this is *exactly* how subliminal messaging is supposed to work.
1. Not enough choices. This app seems pretty new, so I expect this to be solved in time. Unfortunately, this is not the biggest problem.
2. Too much trust. While choices like "Inner Power", "Adonis/Venus sculpt", and "Wealth Magnet" are very sexy and click-baitey, they also require a high level of trust from the user. Even if the only messages are affirmations, even those can be harmful. Something as simple as "You are a smart shopper" could be devastating to someone with low impulse control. I would recommend that you show the users the messages within the choices so users can make informed decisions. As I'm sure you're aware, subliminal messaging is *very* effective, even if you already know what the message is. Doing this would earn another star from me.
3. Too complicated. This, in my opinion, is the biggest problem. The choices available are very broad categories. Sometimes simple is better, and often simple can be more powerful. For example, I have a bad habit of eating late night snacks. I know this and am actutely aware of it. I believe that a subliminal message of "You are not hungry. You don't want food right now." would be very effective for me. If I could do that in this app, I would not only give it the fifth star, I would pay the $60/year.
I think this app has potential. It's not grotesquely expensive like some of the others, and it doesn't over-claim on it's features, like so many of the other apps that include "hypnosis". I am very much a promoter of do one thing and do it very well. I will keep this app on my phone and check back from time to time to see if it's gotten better.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review and for sticking with the app. You’re absolutely right about 3 things: • The library was limited • Subliminals require a lot of trust • Broad categories aren’t enough for very specific habits In the new Sublimind v2 we’re focusing on exactly those points: you can now create fully custom subliminals for specific goals (like late-night snacking), on top of a growing free library and clearer explanations of what each track is designed to support. We really appreciate your feedback — it directly influenced the direction we took. I hope v2 gets us much closer to that 5th star.
