What's New in Submersion Dive Log

1.6.0

July 9, 2026

v1.6.0's centerpiece is a completely rebuilt dive planner: a live profile canvas that recomputes your schedule as you edit, real closed-circuit planning with a worst-case bailout solver, contingency and lost-gas plans, turn pressure and rock-bottom checks, and plans that save, sync, share, and print. Around it, this release adds three new ways to get dives into your logbook: scan a paper logbook page with your camera, import a whole folder of dive files at once, and record a surface GPS track on your phone that positions dives your computer couldn't. It also gives you a way out of a stuck sync, unifies the cylinder information on the dive detail page into one card, and fixes the reason large Shearwater logbooks could never finish downloading.

User reviews

Nice app has promise but

It’s a nice app. The UI is beautiful however it’s still a little rough around the edges. I was looking for something to replace this year water dive app, which is awful and this isn’t gonna cut it. I’ve opened up a few bug requests but they keep getting closed and the issues are never really solved, but I’ll give it three stars because the UI is really nice.

This is the one log app to rule them all

Finally! A full-featured, modern dive log app. Submersion has everything I’ve ever wanted in a dive log app and more I didn’t even think about. It’s amazing that this is free, open-source, and completely private. There are a few rough edges, but nothing that would stop me from recommending this app to other divers. I’m still trying to figure out importing all my dives and locations, and syncing between my devices. This isn’t on the developer, but the version here on the App Store is behind what is available as a direct download.
