In the new version we removed ads and moved some features behind a one-time in-app purchase. If you have already purchased, you are still a premium user and do not need to pay again. If you still see paid content after purchasing, please tap Restore Purchases in Settings. If restore fails, contact me via the email option on the Settings page. The new version still has some bugs, and I am working hard to fix them. Thank you for your understanding.

The Best Sudoku App

I play sudoku daily for focus and at times even mindfulness relaxation. Having an app that allows the ability to play without distractions or annoyances and allows me to tailor the app to my personal preferences is what is so great about Sudoku Custom. Thank you for your hard work and your vision in developing this app.

Bug Fixed

They fixed the tutorial bug, rather quickly as well, so I feel obligated to update my review.

The tutorial on this app is one of the best Ive seen. I have 4 sudoku apps and I use this exclusively for tutorial. The tutorial mode alone warrants at 4 stars, but Im giving it 5 because they fixed the bug quickly and the app is relatively user friendly.

Amazing App

Actually one of the best apps out there. It’s great for learning techniques of all levels. I especially like that I can create or import my own puzzle from a book or magazine and get hints that tell me WHAT the next step is and WHY.

Best so far.

So far this is the best Sudoku app I’ve ever used. I like to solve paper books but can’t always carry them. Now I can save some and do them on my waiting time.

For serious puzzlers

Excellent interface with powerful solver that provides hints. Extensive tutorial material to help interpret the hints and learn. Can take any muzzle as input from camera or puzzle string. Beautiful work with thousands of puzzles at each difficulty; much harder puzzles available than ordinary sudoku apps.

The tutorial section has actual advanced methods and the hints explain what to do and why. Best sudoku app out there!

I Can Do the Newspaper Sudokus with a consistent user experience.

I can Input the NYT, Apple news and tribune daily sudoku in this app. You can do them in the paper but the user experience in those apps are limited. With this app I have a consistent user experience.
