Poor ipgrade
This game was add free, not any more. I use to enjoy seeing all of the opponents scores now I just see the top and the ones around my score. Now if you fill the last number you can’t remove the same little numbers, so you have to remove them all before placing the last number. I am deleting this game and searching for a better version.

Multiple solutions found
First tricky puzzle I did proved to have multiple solutions. I would not suggest this app to any true sudoku fan.
Where is my saved puzzle? Not saved anymore?
Just updated the app. Appreciate the bigger grid but navigation within the app has changed and it’s it’s not user-friendly at all anymore. Can’t find a Support link. Can’t find anyplace in app to comment on the update, which is where you said to go with questions. BIG QUESTION: Where is my saved puzzle? I got back into the app today and my almost finished puzzle that I’d entered myself is not there anymore?! WTH?!
I used to recommend the app to friends, but can’t do that if I can’t get back in to finish my puzzles!

Fun and challenging
I play this every morning when I get up. Gets my brain going for the day.
Latest upgrade removed ad-free
I had ad-free and that disappeared with latest update without any explanation, nor can I restore my status. Not impressed. Had been best version of this game but no more.

Best Implementation
I have enjoyed this version from Astraware for over 5 years. While getting the game for someone else I noticed there were only 2 reviews and they were both bad, so I’m adding mine. The interface is clean. Row and column highlighting adds to it. There are options for pencil marks (selecting possible numbers). I like the option to automatically remove pencil marks of the same number in the same row, column or square when I select input the correct number. I’ve purchased the game so I don’t get any adds, and I’ve never had any problems with losing my purchase and getting adds again. I haven’t tried all the available implementations of sudoku (there’s a gizillion of them), but I tried more than a few before I came across this one and that’s when my search ended.

The best has got even better!
Just when I thought there couldn’t be a better Sudoku app than this one, it gets even better, with an improved, clearer interface and all-round more logical and straightforward layout and settings. This update is more than just cosmetic, and has taken the app streets ahead of the competition.
The puzzles themselves are excellent, a good range of difficulty, with graduated hints available that can become more detailed if the first hints aren’t enough. A great, appealing way to learn and improve Sudoku skills.
I’ve tried a number of Sudoku apps and this one is outstandingly the best. Truly excellent.

Well this was once fun.
Had this for years. It was clearly on autopilot. After years with no substantive changes an update happens, gone was the fairly clean graphics, but all of a sudden, it requires a subscription, or only allows a few games/day (I had paid for ad free, a one time charge, years back)

best Sudoku out there
I am playing Sudoku of The Day since the old Palm PDA many years ago. It has always been highly challenging, the GUI is intuitive to use, and the new version is even better.
What happened?
I’ve been playing this game for years and play the daily puzzles almost every day. The last few days, though, the daily puzzles don’t load. Why? My internet is fine, so it’s not that. Why won’t these puzzles load?
Pencil marks
If you leave the sudoku puzzle by returning to the home page or closing the app the pencil marks don’t seem to save very far back in time and you have to redo some of it when you resume the puzzle. It would be nice if there was a manual save function or an automatic in-built save function every 30-60 secs.

Good app
However I was at first elated when I saw the notepad thinking I could make strings and loops, underline some candidates, uncover patterns etc. But after returning to the puzzle all the notes are lost! Very disappointing!

Allows you to solve the puzzle yourself. Gives helpful hints without doing the work for you. Excellent!!
Pencil marks hard to read
17.10.2018: Bug: Während eines noch nicht beendeten Spiels versehentlich die Hometaste erwischt. Dann leider kein Resume verfügbar!-/ Das scheint dann zu passieren, wenn bereits neue Spiele verfügbar sind. Und bitte: step-by-step Solutions der Webseite mit den echten Zahlen!!
12.1.2015: hey, ich war noch nicht fertig! Nach 1 Stunde Arbeit an einem diabolischen Spiel Reset auf Hauptmenü beim Aktivieren aus dem Hintergrund. Inklusive Markierungen für eine lange Forced Chain. Mist!
18.12. 2014: Auch nach Umstieg auf iPhone 6 sind die Kandidatenahlen kaum lesbar! Auch ist der Unterschied zwischen vorgegebenen und eingegebenen Ziffern nicht zu erkennen.
Beste Algorithmen und Auswahl an Spielvarianten aber zu anstrengend.

Heute mal wieder gespielt. Riesenbug (oder soll das etwa ein Feature sein?): die Varianten passen nicht zu den offiziellen Sudokus auf der Webseite. D.h., keine Möglichkeit, die step-by-step Solution in schwierigen Situationen zu Rate zu ziehen und zu lernen! Die internen Tips sind ja höchstens einmal zu gebrauchen.

I have extreme difficulties to read the marks because of the dim font used. Apparently there's no way change this font. Furthermore, the solved numbers entered are hard to discriminate against the start numbers.
Will go back to the old version and its task switching bug that often discards your current state when switching back under ios7.

Latest update is annoying
You have to log in with your Apple ID every day if you have paid for no ads. The messaging system doesn’t work. Very frustrating
