Spin the globe, drop onto any mountain on Earth, and see what it's actually like — the runs, the lifts, the lodges, the snow falling on it right now, and the photos riders took there last week.
Every ski mountain in the world has a page on Summit. Not the ten a magazine writes about. More than 4,700 of them, from your home hill to a glacier in Japan.
EVERY MOUNTAIN ON EARTH
A real satellite globe you spin with your thumb. Drop onto a mountain and its runs and lifts draw themselves onto the terrain — green, blue and black in that country's own convention, lifts dashed in red — and you can tilt the whole mountain over to read a face the way you'd ski it.
WHAT IT'S ACTUALLY LIKE THERE
Open a mountain and you get its runs, its terrain park, its lifts, its lodges and its après — the bars and restaurants on the hill, by name — with live snow, temperature and conditions on top. Where a resort publishes it you also get live lift status and wait times, its own trail map, and its webcams.
PHOTOS FROM PEOPLE WHO WERE JUST THERE
A resort's website shows you a bluebird day from 2019. Summit shows you last Tuesday. Riders post to the exact run, lodge or bar a photo was taken on, so a mountain fills in with the parts of it you'd actually want to see before you book anything.
FIND YOUR PEOPLE
See friends on the map while you ride, start a group for the day, and point an arrow at someone across the mountain when you lose them. Post a trip to the Lounge and riders heading to the same place can reach out. Start a crew for a trip with friends and it brings its own chat, its own ride group, and a record of the days afterwards.
RATE ANYTHING, NOT JUST THE RESORT
Stars on a mountain, a single run, a chairlift, a bar. Find the good ones before you spend a morning on the bad ones.
KEEP THE LIST
Every mountain you've ridden goes on your profile, and you can drag them into your own order, with gold, silver and bronze on the top three. Heart the ones you haven't reached yet and they move across the day you do.
RECORD THE DAY
Runs, vertical, distance and top speed, with the phone in your pocket. Your track stays on the phone and is never uploaded — and a day you're proud of can go on that mountain's leaderboard.
WHAT'S ON YOUR PASS
Filter the globe to the pass you already hold and watch everything else drop away.
Summit is free. No ads, and nothing behind a paywall.
