Festival Companion

Great to have during the festival to navigate the program, access tickets and event information.

Robert Redford died with this app

This app is a joke. I signed up for this app and it just crashes. It won’t even let me login. What’s the point of a Sundance Film Festival 2026 a app to watch independent movies and doesn’t even work. Robert Redford died along with this app.

Terrible as usual

Every year is different and bad. The screenings listing have improved but the waitlisting (which is where you need it the most) is terrible again and somehow even worse than last year. I don’t the programmers actually do real test runs to see how it works

Can’t get past the agreement screen

I logged in, then I’m taken to a user agreement screen, and at the bottom the only option is to “go back”

Came for the films…

Can’t see much! Waitlisted for three films so far but haven’t gotten into ANYTHING! Very disappointing to have come from Delaware and can’t get in.

I was fortunate enough to get into Redford Legacy Environmental Panel and that was fabulous, but I was there two hours in advance to secure a spot.

There has been a lot of waisted time.

Garbage

This app has crashed countless times, it’s inaccurate, inconsistent, and has cost me seeing films three times now. It’s only day 3!!! What an utter disaster.

Not easy or helpful for wait lists

I have tried n paid for a waitlist pass but still does not work.

Consistently Terrible

This app is consistently terrible. Each year I hope for improvements and each year I am disappointed. It is difficult to navigate. Adding a film to your favorites doesn't add its showtimes to your schedule. Because the app is so clunky, I had to go on the website to add everything to my schedule, which was an incredibly tedious process. But now the worst part is that the app inexplicably has logged me out due to inactivity, despite having been quite active, and now I'm getting an error message every time I try to log back in, rendering it useless. I've submitted a ticket for this issue but do not have faith it will actually get fixed.

Not working properly

This app hasn’t worked once for me. If I wasn’t here with friends I would never get into or know about anything. It doesn’t load until 5 minutes after everyone else around me has (some of whom have the same phone service as me) and everything is sold out by the time it does.

I’ve checked for updates. I’m super bummed but hopeful it will get better in the last two days I’m here.

App sucks

App crashes and doesn’t load

2026 Login problem

Entered my username and password after setting up website account for 2026 festival. Not working.

Great first time Sundancers!

Our only problem was when we initially started ordering our tickets. There was a glitch and we got 4 instead of two, but that was resolved immediately. We loved the way we could favorite films and they showed up on our schedule in order. It was easy to call u our tickets. We didn’t have many opportunities to try the waitlist. Now if only Chicago International Film Festival would try collaborating to have an app like this.

Terrible App

Very difficult to navigate. Many, many issues that prevent screenings to occur. What a waste of money buying online passes.

another year, another disappointing app

So complicated to navigate, Chat is useless, no information about online start times, no response to emails this year-not even one. I literally can't play my movies because I am receiving a "failed to play" message on one of my televisions and I can't get a response from Sundance. Also, the amount of changes and extra cost for such limited online offerings is just greedy. And last year, a few of the movies were on Netflix and other streaming services in the following weeks. Come on. Make things accessible and fair and keep up with the times with a navigable and responsive app.

Bad

Much worse than last year, longer load times, difficult to navigate, waitlist is incredibly frustrating to operate now, and now a glitch where every movie has tickets available, but not able to purchase them. While this bug is happening unable to join waitlist for any movie. Very bad experience.

Once again very disappointing

Why does it have to be a different system for the waitlist every year? The new bring a companion feature was confusing and not well explained. Signing up for the waitlist was extremely frustrating. It was very glitchy and lots of buffering.

Navigation is useless

With no physical maps or way to navigate you’re constantly having to look at your phone but unfortunately you cannot search any of the houses a.k.a. the Disney house, Acura house of energy the Adobe house as they are not actual places. You can search the theaters, but good luck, trying to find any of the other venues.

Very disappointed in the ‘25 app

Very dissatisfied with the app experience this year. First, the movies weren’t populating, only the programming like the morning meditations, panels, and all of the other experiences other than the movies were showing in the schedule. I kept navigating around trying to find out the why, navigated back and somehow the movies were there. I have no idea how. But spent an hour on that part.

Now the waitlist process is presenting a problem. I tried to waitlist three movies to see with my partner. In years past, we were able to link our accounts and get on a waitlist in sequential order. This year, I tried to join a waitlist and it asks if I want to add a companion. I did but our waitlist order was 30-50 spots apart. I assume when I first clicked to join the waitlist that it snagged my spot and while it was asking if I wanted to add a companion it kept accepting other people who got in line between us. Not a great system. What’s the point of the process like that if we’re going to be 50 spots apart? From past experience, there’s no way both of us would make it in.

Lastly, for the third movie we wanted to see today via the waitlist, the waitlist didn’t show up on my app until 3 minutes after it opened. We ended up being in spots 100 and 149.

This is really disappointing. These are basic functionalities of an app for an event like this and they all broke down.

Awful

The “schedule” includes zero actual films right now. The filters are awful (end time for filtering is 8:30 pm but many films start after that). How does this stuff make it through and online without being tested and vetted.

Tickets sold out one minute after opening them.

Booked flights, hotels and other travel accommodations and one week prior to event, tickets go on sale (that’s a problem in itself) and sell out in one minute, and all other bookings can’t be cancelled. Something is wrong with this system. Very disappointing.
