The Sundarkand is the fifth and central chapter of the Hindu epic Ramayana. It is the only section where the protagonist is not Lord Rama, but Lord Hanuman. It chronicles Hanuman's colossal leap to Lanka, his discovery of Sita, the burning of Lanka, and his return to Rama with hope for her rescue.
