App no longer works

I just get a blank screen now after the app opens. And there’s nothing to click on to use the app. It appears to be a discontinued app that I have been using for the last two years. The same issue is also happening with the other app Daily Office Lectionary. Disappointed that both apps have stopped working.

Whenever there is a problem with an app, it is recommended to delete the app and reinstall it. If you’ve already reinstalled it and you’re still having problems, you can try to kill the app. Then reopen it and it should work. Please let me know if you have any more problems.

App not working

I just spent $.99 on this app and when I opened it I got a message saying database isn’t downloaded or update is needed. I checked the App Store for an update and it says the latest version was 5 days ago. Very disappointing and upsetting to spend money no matter how small the amount for something you can’t use. I hope this is fixed quickly.

GREAT APP!

As a pastor, this is one of my favorite apps!
Recently I switched to the RCL version and closed the app. When I attempted to reopen, the app opens to an image of the Bible then shuts down.

Also, will the new lectionary year be automatically updated?

It is not opening…then it crashes

I have enjoyed using this App but recently on my iPad mini (most recent) it would keep on crashing…

Holy app for Holy Week

I find myself needing to quickly see and read the scriptures for specific Sundays while involved in planning future worship services, but I don’t like carrying extra books everywhere I go.
This week I’m enjoying and being uplifted by reading the daily lectionary for each day in Holy Week as my quiet time contemplation. God is love, God is good.

I really want to rate this higher

This looks like it could be a great app if the interface was better: I cannot find a way to navigate to the Psalm, Epistle or Gospel. When I am stuck on the Hebrew Scripture Lesson I cannot rate the app greater than 1 star. Sorry. Show me where to navigate to other sections and I’ll change my review to 5 stars.

Sorry to hear about the confusion. There is a greater than symbol “>” to go to the next page in the bottom right of the toolbar which will turn the page like a book. Then you will see a less than symbol “<“ on the left of the toolbar to go to the previous page. Or with your finger drag from the right to the left will also turn the page. Let me know if this works for you.

App Healed Itself (updated review)

On initial install (iPad Pro, most recent version of iOS)… the app popped the “download the database” dialog and then the app exited. Attempts to restart the app cause it to exit, even after power off reset of iPad.

Several days later… it just started working. It’s a miracle! :-). OK, not really, but the app does work.

I love this App

I really love having easy access to all the Sunday readings. I use weekly in my ministry. And, I've used it more than once in an emergency to access the lost reading at the last moment when nobody else seems able to find it.
I highly recommend it to anyone needing easy access to the readings in either the Revised Standard Lectionary or the BCP Lectionary. Thank you for making it available.

Try to uninstall it, then reinstall it and let it complete its installation.

Very useful

Having the readings where I can look at them on my phone makes it very easy to check during work breaks for any words not part of my standard vocabulary so that later I can check how to pronounce or a subtle unusual meaning that would make me read it a little differently.

App Crashes/Resolved

I was having a problem reloading this app after a phone upgrade.

I sent an email to the developer and explained my problem. He replied promptly and addressed my concerns.

This is the best customer service I have ever received from an app developer.

I’m very impressed with Mr. Coates and his dedication to his work and his customers.

Highly recommend!!

Sunday Lectionary

This has been a good app until now. The dates are all messed up (to the last "year A" .) The app crashes now. Have been using this and the daily office for years for devotionals. Excellent overall. Hope you can fix it soon.

Thanks for the update! It no longer crashes, and I appreciate having easy access to more than just the current week. Much improved.

Holding at 3 stars for now because it appears that some of the lectionary readings are not correct. Also, only one of the two lectionary tracks appears to be shown. I'll return to this for final review after I can check this against the book on the morning.
